pdogg's income last year was due to a huge influx of stocks from hybe going public, it's not his regular annual income. I'm sure he still makes millions per year but the 34million number was a one-off thing.

The ULs speak for themselves, "INVU" was peaking in ULs up until the new March releases easily surpassed in ULs, so it's not like you're comparing ULs from January vs March. There were songs from December still hogging up the top 5 in charts in February. I agree that longevity is just as important so we'll see how songs continue to perform as more artists come back in the next couple months.

The problem is the supposed audio at the center of the controversy. I think any brand or major project (drama, etc) will be hesitant to sign her if there's even a small risk of that audio file somehow surfacing again. With time I could see the situation improving for solo activities but since Irene is on the older side for an idol and I'm not sure how active Red Velvet plans to continue as a group, I don't know if waiting it out will work. The best case scenario for Irene would be to get signed onto an acting project within the next year that ends up as a commercial success.

Which song was that?
Celebrity
"BbiBbi" was released on a Wednesday as well (Oct 10, 2018) and managed to PAK before quickly getting blocked by ZionT. Tuesday and Wednesdays releases are definitely the hardest though PAK in first week = strength of the artist, PAK in 2nd/3rd week = strength of the song.

Considering the connection IU's company has to Melon wouldn't it be weird if she gave attention to some other chart?
Some artists may care and some artists may not, just like some fans care and some fans don't. Taeyeon said she doesn't care (she didn't know what all kill was, not to mention when she got #1 on gallup she thought the fan who informed her meant DC gallery lmao) but she said her company and fans care so naturally she's happy when her songs do well because that means the company and fans are happy.
JYP helped start flo with Hybe and SM and yet Twice has only referenced Melon in the past (celebrating when they hit 1, referencing the fruit chart on that radio show, etc). I don't know any popular artists from any agency that has acknowledged flo, genie, bugs, etc charting.

Congrats to gidle on their PAK! Very well deserved especially with all the competition right now.

High chance of PAK for gidle tomorrow!

Isn't it D? The company is getting taxed on its revenue, and then the remaining revenue paid out as dividends is taxed again on an individual level.

Finally the music charts are starting to get interesting after 3 months of stagnation. Surprised by these UL jumps today though since both songs are now a week old.

Really impressed and happy for gidle, after everything they've been through. 4th gen might also be the last gen where the Big3 buff holds that much weight.

Finally a hint of interest, though still historically low.

Please open dictionary and find the meaning of "shifting". This shifting phase could take some time. And it's not just spotify, I just mentioned one for example.
Pay attention to the "people shifting platformS" phrase and not on the spotify word
saying melon will soon be as relevant as bugs is what made your comment sound ignorant. first spotify korea needs to become as relevant as bugs.
-
Imo people shifting platforms (like spotify for example).
Soon, probably melon would be as relevant as bugs now (probably).
It's nice tho so that I don't need to see bs argument about PAK whatsoever again (perhaps)
think again. spotify has even smaller market share than bugs in korea. melon has 40% market share, bugs has 3%, spotify korea has 1.5% market share. if anything bugs should be removed from instiz. youtube music is now the 2nd biggest music platform after melon but they don't offer hourly data, only daily.

to be fair, for some reason women in general don't tend to collab with each other in the industry, I don't know why..... k-hip hop male artists will often collab with each other, but we don't see the same for women.

Generally artists still active on the top with similar profiles rarely collaborate.
It is profitable to keep the appearance of rivalry or even such wishes for a combination, keep on going.
It is not IU+Taeyeon, but also other major soloists Sunmi, Heize, Lee Hi, Chungha - have they collaborated with each other?
IU's last such collab was with Ga-in what 8 years back.
Otherwise only with male idols or non-kpop singers.
So ..
CL was supposed to feature on "Coin" but fell through because of scheduling (I believe CL's family member passed away). I would love to hear a IU and Taeyeon collab someday though.
