I feel like I'm living in a dictatorship
It's not about the song, that's the point! It could've been any other song, tbh, and the people weren't talking just about Butter but a couple of their most recent releases. It doesn't even matter whether you like it or not, it's just stupid that people's comments are getting mass reported just because they're not bowing down to BTS.
So, Butter was finally released, and it turns out a noticeable amount of people don't think it's their cup of tea, including myself. I've checked and participated in the comment sections on Allkpop and that other forum that starts with an S, discussing this song, and some people expressed how disappointed they are with the song and the new direction that BTS is taking. Especially after that press conference where they admitted that one of the reasons this song turned out the way it turned out is because they thought it would give them a better chance at Grammys. And I get it, but this doesn't feel like the old BTS. I actually used to be a big fan, which is pretty obvious from the username I chose when I made this account over 3 years ago. I just sort of grew out of them, because their music style has changed a lot and doesn't suit my taste anymore. It's totally okay to change, but this change doesn't feel like an upgrade...
All those people I mentioned also voiced similar opinions, and they were actually respectful. No insults were aimed at BTS, because I don't consider saying you don't like their recent releases and feel like they're lacking in comparison to their old stuff to be insults.
A huge amount of ARMYs actually do like their new music, which is great, everyone is allowed to have their own opinion an music taste! Except if you're saying you don't like BTS' music, it seems... All those comments which aren't basically saying : 'OMG, best song of the year, slay kings!!', are being mass downvoted an reported. I understand downvoting, but I don't understand reporting. Those comments were never breaking the rules, didn't use profanity and certainly weren't hateful. Also, a lot of ARMYs can't accept that the majority of these people are ex-fans. No, they call us haters and say we were never fans in the first place because we think this way??
What I find really hilarious, though, is that they're all saying: 'Whatever, keep hating, BTS don't care', and then proceed to report all of these comments. :-D
So, what's up with this? Why can't we even be civil anymore?

Yes, probably one of the best ongoing dramas at the moment. I'm really hooked. However, the historical background is really tragic so that will be hard to watch, and because of that and numerous other circumstances, a lot of viewers have a feeling the ending is going to be tragic as well.
Is doom at your service good? I wanna watch because of the lead actors, but if its boring i might skip
I personally like it, the cinematography is amazing, the actors are really good, the concept is interesting (although definitely a lot of Goblin vibes, but with a depressed and 'bad boy' ML). However, I did find episodes 3 & 4 a bit too slow for my own taste. The second leads seem to have an interesting subplot, but they still haven't properly started that.
I do agree with you on that. But my post was initially about records, because A LOT of kpop fans seem to find that quite important. I did throw in my opinion about BTS in there, because I honestly don't think I've seen much people if anyone saying that, except for antis, but I don't find their opinions valid.

Why are you so pressed? It's literally my own opinion. Yes, they're talented, yes they have good music (I personally don't really vibe with their latest releases, but again, that's personal taste), but I just don't think they're the best. There are many factors that go into deciding that and you can't be objective about all of them, but my point was that the number of views and streams is a stupid argument.

Honestly, this is me with every TWICE song. Rarely do I like a TWICE song on the first listen, but when I get into it, I'd be listening to it for ten days straight.
I hate how a lot of fans/stans keep track of every record when it comes to views and streams or whatever, just to use it as an argument to prove their group is better or more talented. The views definitely play into the popularity, but a lot of groups are getting popular based on their visuals and personality rather than the music they're putting out. BTS is definitely the most popular kpop group, but, in my humble opinion, I don't think they're the best. There, I said it.

Regardless of the scandal, I always thought it was really overhyped. I actually managed to finish it, but I'd be lying if I said the 'plot twist' wasn't bad and that I didn't find it painfully boring most of the time.
Ongoing dramas that I'm currently watching and absolutely love:
Taxi Driver - good action thriller, pretty original story. Lee Je Hoon's amazing in it.
Youth Of May - really, really beautiful. Beautiful story, beautiful cinematography, and it's set in the 80s (I love dramas set in the 20th century, it's kind of nostalgic, although I wasn't even born back then). But beware, it is a tragedy.
Some of my absolute favorites:
Tomorrow With You - although it has it's flaws, I watched this one two times, that's how much I love it. Also, I feel like a lot of people haven't even heard about it, it's really not mentioned often.
Radiant - an underrated masterpiece. It turns out to be something completely different than what you initially thought you were watching and that's what's amazing about it. Lots of people didn't like it because they expected a 'simple' romantic story, but it's so much more than that and is really worth watching.
Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo - it seems like your standard YA rom-com, but what's really refreshing about it is how it's stepping all over the typical drama cliches and tropes. It was also really funny.
Extraordinary You - again, a little bit cheesy, but also makes fun of the cheesy shoujo/rom-com cliches and tropes. Also, the female lead is such a loveable and funny character. Kim Hye Yoon became one of my favorite actresses after that.
Save Me - amazing thriller with an interesting plot.
Circle - again, a really interesting thriller with sci-fi elements. Also, quite underrated. It does have sort of an open ending, though.
Flower Of Evil - favorite drama of 2020.
- Hated Hwarang (such a shame because the cast was really good).
- Goblin wasn't as good as everyone was saying, it was quite boring actually, didn't like the main couple at all and couldn't care less about them tbh. I only stayed for Sunny and The Grim Reaper.
- I tried watching The Heirs, somehow got through the first episode and just couldn't continue because of how cringey it was.
- I think CLOY was overhyped. I kind of liked it, but then again, I never finished it, so there's that...
- Now I feel like this is the most controversial one: It's Okay Not To Be Okay. I liked Seo Ye Ji's outfits, liked Oh Jung Sae's character aaand that's about it. I feel like they were trying to make this a 'healing' drama like It's Okay, That's Love, but then they incorporated some wacky, almost fantastical elements that totally ruined it for me. The whole plotline with that nurse who ended up being Seo Ye Ji's character's psycho mother who faked her own death was downright awful. And only after I've watched it, did I begin to realize how I find some elements of it a bit problematic. Also, it got really boring really quickly...
Some dramas I haven't watched, but I feel like I wouldn't like and are overhyped:
- Vincenzo - I feel like it would be cringey, especially SJK (sorry dude) speaking Italian and the female lead's overacting.
- BOF - Have seen some clips and am sure I would absolutely hate it.
- Penthouse - I think it just isn't my type of show. Makjangs can be really fun, but are far from quality entertainment, lol. I mean, let's be real, not a lot of kdramas are, but I don't want to waste 3 seasons on a soap opera, watching people overacting and dying just to come back from the dead.
