Fam, Israel attacked an Iranian embassy and killed Iranians. This attack would not be going on right now if the embassy attack had not happened.

Also no one is expecting restraint from Israel, they have not showed restraint or a tendency for de-escalation in the past. Honestly, the only way I see Israel not attacking Iran is if the US would cut off support and stop sending them massive amounts of weapons and money, but we know that's not going to happen.

Unfortunately, if you look at history humans can't just sit around and not take a side.

Action is required to change the status quo, and sometimes that requires violence. Even the UN says violence is justified if you are defending yourself.

A lot of democratic countries like the USA were founded by violent revolution against feudal hereditary dictators etc, and a lot of rights we take for granted today were passed in legislation because of pressure from organized labor and mass strikes, an example is the 40 hour work week.

I'm not even going to get into how WW2 could have been way less deadly an shorter if the UK and France had not just appeased Hitler for the entire 1930s.

I don't know about other western countries, but pro-Israel political organizations donate a lot of money to politicians in my country (the USA). Also, the really religious evangelical Christians (prob the most powerful part of the right wing in the US) are pro-Israel because the second coming of the messiah has specific requirements in the bible that includes Israelite control of Jerusalem and I think the rebuilding of the temple mount. It's ironic because according to the bible when the second coming happens all the non-Christians (which includes the Jews) either die or convert.

There are also just a lot of people scared of Muslims in the west because of ignorance, propaganda, or just racism.

You know a thread is going to be a wild ride when it's a BTS diss thread and it starts with something like "long time army". Almost as golden as threads that start with, "I used to be an army but....".
