We don’t know what is written in their contract agreements, and I’m sure there are points made about extreme situations but then again they can’t terminate contract overnight! Developed countries have a lot of bureaucracy! Contracts are about humans not machines finances or anything else! If it can be terminated that easily many idols would not even be here at this point! So there are a lot of obstacles to finish the legal termination of the contract! And he is yet to be proved guilty about SA charges and SM has already kicked him out of the group and deleted him from its social media pages!

Well I guess Idols themselves of this big3+Hybe caliber have enough money to bail themselves out!
And if they are not part of the cb then company doesn’t pay unless they have a royalty or sales from cbs from previous cbs where artist have participated in!
If you are talking about if they have to pay if they terminate contracts even if he is guilty(or in the jail in this case) then the Court decides it! Because contract agreement can’t be violated that easily! And I’m sure there are points in contract where Company can unilaterally terminate contract and doesn’t have to pay money for that but than again it has a lot of bureaucracy and they may have to take it to the court!

Yeah true! He is staying at SM because termination of contracts takes some time and I read somewhere that SM have to pay him if they terminate the contracts so they will wait until his contracts ends(which is close to the end according to fans) then they won’t renew it!

True but it may have taken 1-2 months to prove SA allegations! Since they have to interrogate both parties many times and fact check everything, cameras, locations where they have met! The collection of data can take a lot of time too

So SM is lying here which can easily dispute with the new just came out? It stated recently so 2 months ago is not recent, and they can't weasel their way out with the wording since this is a major serious case.

what i said was that a sm without mhj (and also lsm) went into bankrupcy in no time when it used to thrive for decades (and strangely the music of the groups mhj was in charge of more closely as an 'art director' went downhill hard).
Of course those past years helped them build a big history but it doesn't change the fact that with this lsm nephew SM specially, only lasted for a few years and is now up for sale (if i'm not wrong).
i'm sure if someone competent buys it, they could do alot with it but as of now, well specially pre supernova release, it was done for in it's current form. and that's when i'm saying that it's highly possible that lsm isn't done with sm and is gona try to buy it back if he found enough fonds or investments in china.
I don’t know about the music that SM produced was hit hard but in reality it isn’t! You yourself admitted that after MHJ Red Velvet had its biggest hit Psycho, and they had another big hit Feel My Rythm in 2022! Shinee also thrived after Mhj departure! Exo had some hits but then SM stopped caring about them! And Next Level was the biggest song of the year in 2021 along with butter by BTS! Nct was handled really well until 2024 happened! But the thing that SM lacked a lot was their marketing strategy! They always fumble the bag with that! And I definitely love 90s, 00s, 10s and even 20s of sm production! I loved almost every Aespa cb, I loved many Nct cbs, I loved everything that Shinee put out from 2018- onwards(except some few tracks in the albums)!
Sm is being for a sale is a Kakao problem not an SM problem tbh! And I admit even if both mhj and lsm are horrible people they are geniuses when it comes to their craft! And I am also thinking that lsm will be back but I don’t know if he will buy SM again

From business perspective matter SM handled this horrible situation 10 times better than Hybe tbh! Hybe should’ve done the same! I don’t defend taeil or any SA crimes or any kind of crimes, but there is a thing called presumption of innocence! Look what happened to Lee Sun-Kyun(actor in parasite)! It was revealed to public that he is under investigation because of “illegal drug use” which after he took out his life then he was proved innocent! Or Gdragon situation with the drugs! Fortunately nothing bad happened but his image was completely destroyed during investigation time and even now many people still think that he is a criminal even if he is not! Hybe should’ve done the same with Suga’s case, and people wouldn’t have talked that much! And SA allegations are very serious matter and it takes a long time to investigate! And if this info was leaked or revealed in June all SM artists would take a very big damage and it would’ve been really hard for every SM artist to Recover especially NCT! And what if “if” Taeil was proven innocent but GP would’ve tore him apart to the point when he had to take his life(which happened before to other idols because of public bullying), so I think in that matter SM handled this situation perfectly!
And if he will be proven guilty(which is very likely to be true) over all SA allegations and charges then I hope he will be punished to the fullest and I hope victim will have proper treatment and rehabilitation and a safe place!

Got to make some sort of happiness out of a tragedy. Hopefully whoever is hurt from his foolishness can make a recovery.
As for why this stuff happens? Well some people are just sick in the head or evil and sometimes some people are easily tempted to do bad things. It's not surprising that a "good looking" person whos rich and famous and can have anything decided to do it. If you have millions of people who are sexually thristing over you and asking for babies and wanting to marry you? Kinda makes it easier to do something terrible. It's like having a million dollars sitting on the ground unattended, guarantee you a good alot of people will start taking it even though they know it isn't thiers.
Also gotta say that relationships in idol industry should be normalised! Like prostitution is illegal in SK and idols work as a “saint” for 10+ years actively, so there is no room for them to have intimate relationships! Like I guess it will help to decrease the amount of SA that happens(we don’t even know many of them since companies will take care of that)
