Make efforts and try to understand what I'm saying before throwing any sophistry.
I am talking about an economic and political reality concerning relationship between two countries. In case you weren't aware, the balance of power between the USA and Korea is not very balanced, I'll let you think for a few seconds on your own and understand who is imposing his will and his rules on the other.
i’m not here to simp for what a courageous genius hybe’s ceo is and i certainly am no an advocate for how he approaches his dreamt vision, in fact i couldn’t care less about him lol, so you don’t have to lecture me on his shortcomings on whatever matter. i was just referring to your attitude towards people’s aspirations when you think that they’re very dumb and therefore should be dropped.
and i’m not sure what your point is regarding the us and korea’s imbalance of power bc literally every struggle in history that bought change stemmed from power imbalance between different factions so.. you do know we’re not talking from a moral standpoint here but just about the success probability of attempts to bring change, regardless of their “rightness” or wrongness depending on subjective viewpoints, right?

This is a sweet dream, and if Bang really think about this he is stupid. If kpop keep growing in west, Europe or USA governement will step in to protect their interest as they do every time for everything.
i’m sure it was stupid for women and slaves to dare dream of equality for themselves at some point in the past too bc the notion was just unthinkable to achieve at the time 🤧
and before someone comes for me with a dumb rebuttal, no obviously i am not equating kpop to slavery, i’m just looking at situations where a change to the system is endeavoured despite how foolish and improbable it seems. if any attempt for change was shot down for how dumb it was, we’d probably still be living in the bronze age bc innovation through trial and error and a strive for the unthinkable were always a stupid pipe dream, so to speak, lol

not saying i love the umpah umpah mv bc i can't stand acting in kpop mvs in general and that mv is definitely chock-full of acting lol but the song doesn't deserve the hate it gets and i'll die on that hill at most just delete the "raps" in the second verse lol and the rest of the song is kidz bop adjacent pop perpection

Nj can’t catch a break lol you’re over here claiming they’re trying to be “not like other girls” while sm stans claim they’re just a clone of 1st gen sm groups ala mhj’s repertoire and other stans claim they’re copying western y2k groups’ music and fashion while not even being the first group to do y2k aesthetics so like which is it?? Are nj not like other girls or just like other girls?? 😭 Or just a punching bag for yall to throw any insult at them no matter how contradictory and inherently laughably dumb those insults are? 😭 At least be consistent and pick a side 😭

without "good" music, or music that's to the liking of many people, you won't become a top top group even with all the privilege in the world, but having good music only without other factors is also never a guarantee for success. never.
I guess what I'm trying to say is people at least care about the music more in this gen. Previous gen was all about the brand who was releasing what. Before even if the music appealed to the "kids taste" it still wouldn't do well if it was released by a lower or even middle tier group.
But there's still a craving for girl groups in Korea. The lack of success from the established big 3 labels helped HYBE, who was already growing, continue to grow in a new market with NewJeans and Le sserafim. With IVE, I keep saying the stars perfectly aligned for their debut to launch them into stardom. Similar thing happened with (G)i-dle who have been able to just grow and grow with each release. Middle tier groups like Stayc and Fromis9 continue to grow as well. And even lower tier groups like H1-Key, CSR, TripleS, and Fifty Fifty have been able to establish themselves in Korea and internationally.
This would also explain why 3rd gen groups like Oh My Girl and Brave Girls were able to find success during the 4th gen.
if you count gidle and fromis 9 as 4th gen, why are you excluding aoa or exid from 3rd gen, or even apink, who aren't big 3 but still found relative success for their time? if you make 2nd gen and 4th gen twice as long as 3rd gen, like you're doing in your op, then of course the head count for groups at any level, nugu or successful, will logically always be lower lol it'd be a miracle otherwise.
people aren't "caring more about the music than the branding" any more than they did previous gens, if anything it's actually getting worse. it's just that the market size is bigger now so there's space for more groups to thrive, which trickles down to the lower levels too, but big 3/big 4 privilege has never been more prevalent than rn lol. even ive had a head start from produce, so there's literally zero gg in the top 5 rn who come from completely nugu background. compare that to the "3rd gen" in your definition which lasted a whopping 4 years, 2 out of the top 5 ggs were completely nugu at debut (mamamoo and gfriend). 4th gen can't relate to that at all lol, there's literally no chance for a nugu group to rise to the top of the top anymore in this climate. maybe there'll be a female version of bts in the future but i'm not holding my breath, and if it happens it'll be a long time coming

whoever gave minho that abomination of a haircut in that video’s thumbnail needs to be publicly executed and made an example out of, just saying

your strong dislike gave me incentives to recheck this song and see if i'd need to rescind my negative judgement and whadayaknow it's much better than i remembered the chorus grew on me and that "sugar rush rush ride" part was a little more tolerable especially when i watch their studio choom performance and their on screen presence distracted me from my dislike of the audio, so in the end my experience listening to this song improved a lot it's only a problem for me in the first chorus anyway, in the second chorus they made the background much less empty for that part so it's all good
thanks for making me question my judgement bc i knew you and your clapped taste hating this song means there's a strong chance it's actually good

no long hiatus, actually promote well, etc.
Off-topic, but am I the only one who loves mumumumuch? I feel like people forget it exists, and rightfully so cause it's not a unique song, but it still bops tho. It has been on my playlist ever since it came out . Why did I phrase it like the song came out a long time ago, it definitely didn't.
mumumumuch is a very catchy song indeed, a total bop. it’s just not as flashy as title songs usually are, and the mv isn’t exactly high budget or eye-catching, and it was released after mamamoo hit their peak, so it understandably flew under the radar.
