I don't know what you imply by that profanity. So will let it be.
And you don't know how this data was collated, it is not about the greatest hit of the year, but weighted consumption.
ThreadGaon Weekly top 100 Digitals 2010-21 RankedMethod:
Top 100 weekly digital so 5200 songs per year,5100 in 2010. - 62300 spots.
#1 gets 100 points, #100 gets 1 point.
Add up by each act, for the whole year. Most points indicate which group was consumed most that year.
That could include songs from the past years as well.
* Yes absolute ranking is not as accurate in showing the popularity of a song was digital points will.
Since differences between ranks won't be uniform, Song #2 on Week2 might be 10 times more consumed than Song #3, whereas in…
your graph is still flawed and I clearly remember a lot of people dissagreeing with you
most consumed is an unclear term
how do you define consumption? 1 listen per person per day?
Because for exemple, EXO being the most consumed in 2016 is clearly flawed by the numbers of their fans
They were more consumed by raw number, but overall, its easily arguable that other artists like Twice had a way bigger reach and more individual listeners.
Like I said, it is flawed. Take BTS for example, they had a smaller consumption in 2019 because they only had one extented play even though it spawned their second biggest hit (or third), compared to 2018 where they released a full album that spawned smaller hits but had more bsides which were heavily consumed by their fans only.
I'd argue that gaon digital points are way more representative of consumption
