Does the feature on guyso.me that lets you plot songs against each other on graph not work anymore or is it my laptop?
Was curious to see how some of these songs in the top 10 are actually shaping up in a non relative sense as they've been up there for a while. Tomboy must be over halfway to beating Next Level's weeks in the top 10, Love Dive will probably get close as well.
Its not working for me eitheir! I get a blank screen and the website is frozen
There are still other artists that day...
54 weeks if i remember correctly
Religion has been the biggest obstatle to progress since the industrial revolutions
Every country who still drinks the religion kool aid is significantly behind secular countries
(just compare Canada to the U.S)
Religion also bring violence and hate while it preaches the opposite...
Hopefully atheism will grow bigger
April is a month.
That That couldn't beat it?
no 180m vs 130m according to guyso
so april soty is going to still life?
What’s longest hiatus/gap between comebacks that Twice had?
Assuming the random august date is a full group comeback then it would be from November 2021 to August 2022 so 9 months
I thought this minion user had been banned after the homophobic posts about Holland's case
well he's obviously still here and talking about him is feeding into what he wants
If what he says bothers you, just block him
Not to the extent of Spring Day, 278 weeks is not replicable.
When did I ever say that another BTS song would last this long? You're just putting words in my mouth here
I cant find the tweet but there was a tweet on Spring Day's chart run and at one point it was very close to falling out of top 100 but it rose a lot thanks to a comeback and the pattern goes on and on but with time the drop is smaller because more and more people discover the song trough the top 100 and listen to it.
There's no need to deny it, no one is saying that the song has been on the charts so long simply because of fandom streaming
That was literally two days ago...
I a 100% agree
The company lacks in the marketing aspect
Just look at Twice's schedule in the past few years
It's always
Japanese album made of old korean tt translated in japanese in the beggining of the year
They announce another japanese comeback like 4 months ahead
Like everyone expected, they comeback during the summer before the japanese album
Then they have another korean comeback around fall
Finally, they have another japanese comeback, usually a single
Thats been their schedule for two consecutive years
There is absolutely nothing new, just good visual, good songs but nothing different
What he's saying makes sense, but for LWY songs, not Spring Day
It"s sure that a part of the reason Spring Day has been on the charts for so long is their fans of course, you can clearly see that everytime they comeback the song rises drasticly and takes a while to fall back but its definetly popular within the GP
Display MoreExcept that Melon is only about 60% of the market, leaving the other 40% +/- unaccounted for.
I was/am aware that ULs are more accurate, but my intention was not to filter out mass-streaming by fans, for that is also consumption.
So decided to go with Gaon digital.
And neither did I limit it to "hits", I was looking at which artists is the most "listened to" in S.Korea.
From 2018, we could use Gaon digital points - even so, it would still be BTS and IU.
But prior to that, this is the best approximation.
I did this when I had the time, seems many have complaints about the compromises I made, but none are stepping up to improve the accuracy. Isn't that typical?
Like i said, they are other streaming site like Genie that have cumulative ULS, still, it would give us an idea of what really had the biggest reach, just like Gaon doesnt compile the data of every single streaming site
There's always Gallup and other surveys that can help too
Display MoreWell if you have already followed that thread, we don't need to rehash.
Flawed - no, the metric already acknowledged the limitations. Flaw is only when the limitations were not accounted for or unknown. See the intro post itself, referencing those limitations.
Gaon digital points - yes, except that they are available only from 2018. While this was for from 2010.
Yes, there are better methods by separately computing streaming, downloads etc. - but no one has taken it up and done the job.
So as is, this remains the closest approximation of "consumption" on AKP as far as I know.
You are welcome to do the analysis with more accuracy and shared.
Sorry english isnt my first language and sometimes i have trouble with the bigger words, I actually wrote consumation instead of consumption lol...
I dont have the time to do this sort of thing but IMO, apart from the digital points, Melon ULS are a really great metric. Really shows the reach a song had.
Of course with the loss of users, this metric can be unaccurate but other music platforms have total ULS, im pretty sure Genie does
If you have the time it would be interesting to combine the ULS of a few big idol hits and see what you get
