Newjeans already had certain level of hype surrounding them cause everyone has been curious what Min heejin gonna debut after leaving SM and joining hybe + establish ADOR. Im not discounting the fact they come from hybe + amid BTS hiatus. They clearly have some support from HYBE stans similar to BP had the YG stans

Tbh, i had never heard of new jeans before they blew up after their debut, did they even have teasers for their debut?

IMO BP was way more anticipated, not even comparable

You cant predict what will do great in korea or not, most of the time its not about the song itself but about the trendiness of the artist

I dont know why you are worried about ny Dreamer, the gap between her and tomboy/that that/ big naughty is still big and is not closing down at all, actually, it was smaller last sunday than today

Obviously new releases are pushing her down but she's still stable, she can last until the bp/twice cbs easily

Internationally and sales wises, bp will obviously outsold

south korea digitals is where it can get tricky cause apart from IU, Bigbang and maybe BP if their cb does well, not one artist is able to get hits after hits

Look at how itzy is outcharting aespa even though they tanked terribly last year while Aespa was topping the charts

Look at how BTS flopped after everyone was shoving down our throats that the korean kings were back and that they would dominate cause they were doing music shows in sk for the first time in a while

Twice could possibly get a hit and BP a flop, but the chances are very low i must admit

they were doing great initially cause they were a new fresh gg on top of being twice's junior groups, the music was fine and Wannabe went viral internationally thanks to Ryujin's shoulder move

Then the songs started being bad and they lost a lot of popularity both intl and in sokor

Sneakers is a revival for them in south korea but the international community is really not vibing with it at all

It seems like JYPE songs always peak weeks later the release thanks to promotions, wherehas SM and YG groups get big starts and peak early

I dont know if its cause JYPE lost some recognition but it's definetly a pattern when you look at the hits or semi-hits that came out of the company recently vs other big 3 hits

When we disco, Alcohol-Free, Sneakers, Pop and even ICSM to an extent peaked weeks later

Itzy outcharting Aespa is almost eerie considering last year

well actually Nayeon overcame LD only one day so technically it wouldve hit 1 on daily chart for only one day but wsg had already released by then

It was also ahead of LD every morning for a few days and then in the evening but not anymore

so yeah nayeon couldve gotten herself a 1 hit

Nowadays, a lot of songs get 10 even 12+ weeks in the top 10 but back then, having around 8 weeks in top 10 was good

Considering it was Nayeon's debut and that she stopped promoting it quite quickly, its very good, especially looking at Twice's perfomance on the charts recently

I wouldnt be suprised if pop! ends up bigger than Fancy, it already has a higher peak so we could say that this is the biggest twice related hit since yoy, almost 4 years ago

I think pop! will last around 7/8 weeks in top 10
