BTS still have 2 more years to go before their 3rd official renewal. I'm sure they've modified their contracts with HYBE quite a few times alr, but looking forward on their 3rd renewal (if they want to) to see more control & freedom over their individual career.

DK why anon had to post this anonymously- it's not even controversial to say lol.

Also, what do you think about their possible renewal? Do you think some of them would leave HYBE and go to other companies? Or what do you want to see on their next contract?

    Discuss.

    OP

I'm not making an excuse. Artists know what songs will do well with charts esp to veterans like BTS. They have to release commercialize songs to pander with as many people as possible. It's not a reached to say that Jhope or some members might only want to release what they want. Targetting commercial success and wanting success is different. If Jhope really want commercial success he will be releasing trendy rap songs and promote it as much as he can but that's not what's happening. He might not feel the need about it after stifling his solo creativity to release generic commercialized songs in his group releases. But yeah, let’s see. This is merely my observations from what's happening rn.

Yeah. Well their solo success will depend a lot on what kind of songs they will put out and their promotions. Seeing with J-Hope's solo- I doubt he'll reach his solo success with his song choices and not even a bare minimum promotions. It feels like a formalized mixtape than a proper solo debut.

Idk about the other members. I guess it depends on what they want to do or their goals. Some might want solo commercial success and some might want to express themselves through creative freedom and artistic purposes like what Jhope is doing.

You kinda sounds like WhyKnock with this one 😅 Anyways, I already said the reason. Their eng pop songs happen to be very catchy. If they released another BWL it will for sure make a top spot. But it's too late now since HYBE and the group are targeting for global stage with their eng songs and it honestly is the best formula for BTS since it smashes everywhere including in SK which is a feat since I haven't seen another kpop group do that well with their eng songs. BTS is not just a kpop group. They reached a massive audience outside of it and needed to cater to everyone else like many global stars do.

Because their eng songs are easy listening and very catchy. Almost all of their korean songs are pop but a bit experimental & out there like Fake Love or DNA if not a weak ballad songs like YTC or LGO. Like BWL (a catchy korean pop song) peaked at very high around 900k uls but it was only released at the same time as Some by Bol4 which is super massive at that time hence it didn't got the top spot. Most of the time- time releases play into a part of getting the top spot. Other songs went into top 1 but didn't got their uls, so it doesn't mean much.

Yet to come down to 600k streams per day now which is a Nugu kingdom stream according to the op. What do you say op? go make a thread similar to this about BTS stream, I dare you.

If you look at many recent acts comeback, then you will notice that youtube MV streams have been trending downward. I believe many kpop fans have moved onto streams audio on spotify, Apple Music and YouTube music.

Yet To Come is not the usual kpop mv and a very chill one. The fandom definitely get way too ahead of themselves and set the goal too high lol. Which is why I also don't get why people are expecting it to get super high views 🤔 Anyways, YT views only matter in kpop fandoms which is also why some kpop companies are paying for ads lol. But outside of that- the whole world actually is into on demand streaming. Like I literally haven't seen anyone in the streets streaming YT mvs and most of them stream on Spotify/AM or for others their own local streaming platforms.

2021 had almost 4.4M back catalogue sales and this year has around 1.5M for the first half only, it truly is unprecedented in Korea

Yeah. I actually estimated BTS to sell 9M albums this year with their back catalogue and new album. Insane feat considering all the limiting of versions and expensive album price. Also almost half of it will come from their old catalogue.

I know fans are doing what they think is right but someone will always be unfair to you and after people you stan (not you like directly you, but generally for all fandoms who are like this) reach certain level of success, paying too much attention to others can make you look insecure. But that's also just my opinion :pepestare:

Right. BTS is literally the biggest group, so why are they acting like that? And since we're talking about Twitter here, I always cringe whenever armys bring up old tweets with small engagements from other fandom and used it to hate on other groups unprovoked. And the way it gets ten thousands of likes too esp when they're downplaying other groups. Sometimes I wonder what the guys (bts) would think if they saw that toxic side of armys esp when they're dragging their idol friends.

Armys need to go outside and touch grass. They dedicate too much time on BTS and act like they are the members themselves. The amount of self projection lol. I'm not even a fan of these groups or any group besides BTS yet armys are always on their ass. Stan twitter is just a menace in the society.

They've been in their safe idol bubble for so long, it ended up hurting them in the end. Sure, gp knows the group, but individually? It's like they know the songs, but not the group members

I agree with this comment tho. The OT7 agenda hurt them a lot in the process. It's very restrictive individually and eventually it became one of the reasons of their burnout. People and even the fans only see them as a group or a unit. They weren't able to express themselves individually outside being 'BTS' and it stifled a lot of their solo freedom (having to pass up solo opportunities and etc...) The group 'BTS' is their safety net, but it also kept them in a big bubble. So, I'm happy that they finally take their own time to explore their solo identity. It's not gonna be easy esp since they started late (imo) but it's gonna be worth it.

bts stopped doing after they blew up ww and only do cfs as the group. Imagine what would happen, had they started promoting after dynamite success. As long as they are playing it safe and not training their variety skills, their fans power can only go so far. J-hope needs to be on these shows. They need general public for longevity.

THIS. They should've opened their own IG accounts when they dropped the solo teasers of Dynamite. Then started easing the fandom of a possible solo promotions. Imo, they should've rode the hype of Dynamite and started releasing their own stuffs & promote individually. Personally, Butter & PTsD shouldn't have happened...2021 should've been the start of their solo era. Now HYBE is more focus on promoting games, webtoon and or any BTS-merch related things.
