I think this will be a pre release and not the main single but they will try to get as much hype behind this one as possible. My prediction is either 23rd July or 13th August.
If I were them, I would not pass up the chance at #1. All it takes is the bare minimum amount of promo for a song with BTS on it to go #1 in the US.
Yeah it's going to debut at #1. I know that armys crushed their order goal for the week so a #1 debut is pretty much secured atp. PTD also seems to be pulling ahead of LGO's pace in both streaming and sales, so hopefully it has a much more gradual drop.
I'm pretty sure their album is coming 7/19/21. On June 9th, Coldplay tweeted that there was 12,917 songs on their new album, but they would probably cut it down. 12,917 backwards is 7/19/21. Here's that tweet:

On July 6th, Coldplay tweeted that new music would be coming soon in "about half a lunar cycle" which is around 2 weeks. 7/19/21 is 13 days after 7/6/21, almost 2 weeks. Here's that tweet:

I think they will push "My Universe" (the song BTS will feature on) as a single when the album releases on 7/19/21.
to be fair, NCT Dream has never tried to promote in or appeal to the west. their main target market has always been Korea and then Asia.
well, people insist that counting NCT subunits as one is an unfair gimmick to other groups
which, frankly speaking, is true. but in my opinion, counting the units separately as groups AND THEN comparing them to other groups is unfair to NCT units because a- they lack the advantage of independent branding and b- they have much much MUCH less content and promotions than their peers and even groups younger than them. for example, TXT and Ateez have more physical releases (and therefore promos) than NCT Dream even though the latter debuted 2 or 3 years earlier.
NCT is a unique case that shouldn't be compared to other groups (especially not for fanwar purposes)
I view them as more of a brand then a group. The individual units are just pieces that fit together to create a larger picture, whereas a traditional group just stands on their own. For the sake of fairness, I think it's better to compare individual releases to other groups rather than the achievements of every unit combined. Also, expecting any group who gains a moderate amount of success to be the "next BTS" is very unrealistic imo.
Female super m would be sick just promote them in korea they dont need to go US
I thought the whole point of SuperM was to appeal to western markets tho, SM GGs generally do well in Korea already. I don't think a female SuperM would be successful enough to justify the investment.
It's crazyhow well their music performs in Japan, their only competition at this point are native Japanese acts lmao. Japan is probably their strongest country overall.
29B is an impressive number, although they probably are not the most viewed kpop act on YT. Obviously this figure fromYG includes user generated content, so it can't really be compared to kworb numbers since that excludes a lot of videos and all UGC. Blackpink is probably 2nd only behind BTS on YT if I had to guess.
