Its the olympics so i think songs are gonna lose more points than usual, or at least starting next week.
That could actually help BTS since they've already been mentioned in the opening ceremony, but I would guess the point losses for each song relative to each other would still be similar

I'm expecting PTD to lose about 2M points, since that seems to be standard for their songs in the 3rd week. The news about the baton touch on the hot 100 could affect it's performance. It all depends on how many points MSG Wannabe loses next week, I'm guessing they would have to lose around 3.5M.

It doesn't work like that. I am talking about having a shot at number 1. Sure their uls on melons go up a bit compare to last week but streams, download go down compare last week. For sure these 3 songs PTD, Next Level and Traffice Light going to compete for number 2. I am not sure which one gona come out on top but iam not seeing PTD topping number 1. This is not downplay PTD by the way, it's just my observation base on chart and data.
Idk, MSG Wannabe lost almost 4M points this week. If they lose a similar amount next week, PTD definitely would have a shot at #1. Looking at week 2 to week 3 comparisons for recent BTS songs, here's what I found:
Dynamite- 2M increase
Life Goes On- 2.1M decrease
Butter- 1.8M decrease
If PTD loses 2M points similarly to other BTS songs, I can definitely see MSG Wannabe losing enough points to be pushed down to #2.

So dynamite this week, already above IU's 2 songs this year. It is really among megasmashes of all time and biggest hit of 202os decade so far. Top 3 yec looks possible unless suddenly someone takes over!
Ptd rising well this week too . Looks like another stable top 5 hit. So much for flopping bcoz it didn't smash out of gate like Butter. A stable hit is very good result!
Butter seems poised to enter yec top 10 too unless it loses steam suddenly. This can be first time for BTS to land 2 songs in top 10 yec of gaon!
I wonder if PTD has a chance at #1 next week if it loses less points than the current #1

the playlist that were showed were "new music friday", its not even an important chart its literally a dump where new music gets playlisted. And like i said, shes a new rising artist with a big smash hit so its only normal for her release to have hype and be playlisted on a new music chart+ spotify is barely used in both korea and japan.
1. New music friday is considered a major playlist, but perhaps I should have stated it differently. She does not have enough demand in these two countries to be placed above BTS on any playlist.
2. It is true that spotify is not used all that often in Korea yet, but it does have a sizeable user base in Japan. Having a smash hit in western countries does not equal having a smash hit everywhere. Her songs and album have almost no impact in either South Korea or Japan, but she was still conveniently placed at the top of playlists in these countries by spotify themselves.
