Well it is decent but everyone likes to bash streaming saying it doesnt earn money compared to physical albums and merch.
The difference here is 9x, thats no joke, and thats only in the US
Get yourself educated, only top act can get huge income through stream while major of artists do not earn much through streaming. Even Mariah Carey said she did not earn much through those breaking record streaming. That’s whynow Spotify pay to their label and their label will divide this amount of money in a different way rather than Spotify pays directly to artists.
Still weird to me that fans still keep spam across Twitter that nickname Gucci Boy which is not belong to their idol. The real one is already recognised by The brand Gucci, stop label your idol with fake nickname.
This forum don't make fun anymore like it used be.
Not troll , army’s bully blink all the time , down play HYLT when comparing to LGO . but the fact that The album is charting higher BE is such a perfect answer to them
I just check the Apple Music chart, it is very impressed to me that The album is rank higher than BE in the worldwide chart, particularly in major of countries, including Korea ( their own country) , all SEA countries, South America ( both Mexico and Brazil) , Pacific ( Australia and NZ) and some European countries ( France,...). I can see BP with their first full album achieved so much compare to other kpop acts and even ranked higher than the biggest kpop group.
Anticipating that BP will be the biggest kpop in this year or next year. And as the album was released in October , this achievements will help them get the Grammy nomination for new artist next year.
So perhaps their spotify streams are more accurate example of the fandom strength while YT is heavily boosted by casuals?
Major of BP from SEA, where YouTube is more popular than Spotify. In the west or South Asian, Spotify and youth are actually matching each other while in SEA, YouTube rule
Many people like to downplay LGO achievements, but if we look at things objectively, it is a huge hit, expecially considering the context of kpop.
Something to take into account while looking at LGO's achievements is slower songs in general normally have less streams (YT and Spotify wise), than the more upbeat ones (this can be seen for many acts).
LGO had almost no playlisting on Spotify (it debuted at #12 on Today's Top Hits while being the follow up song for Dynamite, the holder of biggest Spotify debut day ever). It had no remixes, not even an intrumental version.
Billboard
1. Life Goes On STILL Holds the Biggest Streaming Week EVER on the Global 200
- AIWFC could not beat it during Christmas
- Despite Driver's License dominance on streaming platforms, it also failed to break LGO's record.

2. Life Goes On is 1 of only 8 songs to ever go #1 on the Global 200
- It is the only Korean language song ever to top the Global 200 and the only song by Korean artist other than Dynamite (and SLR)
- 3/8 of the songs that went #1 were BTS (Dynamite, Life Goes On, Savage Love (BTS REMIX)).
- Its still charting on both global 200 charts.
- It is still one of only 3 songs to bebut at #1 on both Global 200 and Global excl US 200

3. LGO's #1 on the Hot 100
- WITH ABSOLUTELY NO SUPPORT it managed to do what it did. LGO probably had the least Radio play for a BTS song ever, it is the song to top Hot 100 with the least amount of radio play ever. It has no remixes, not even an instrumental version. It was a Korean ballad.

- It managed to do this, while fandom attention was also divided by an album release and while charting ALL songs from the album on Hot100, including a b-side as high as at #13!
- It was the first non-English song EVER to debut at #1 on Hot 100

- It was 4th non-English song to hit #1 on Hot 100 since 1987, after La Bamba, Macarena, Despacito
Spotify
- Life Goes On is BTSs best performing song on Spotify after Dynamite and BWL
- Life Goes On passed 100M of Spotify faster than BWL and passed 200M on Spotify only 7 days slower than BWL. WHY Is this significant? BWL had playlisting support thanks to Halsey's Label for a month, thus helping its streams especially in its first few months, not to mention it was pushed on radio so it got exposed to more people. As well as many more promotions in general as well as it being a collab.
- LGO managing to compete with Dynamite and BWL which are the epitome of BTSs most supported songs on the platform, show just how much the fandom has grown that a slower chill song (with little to no promotions on its own), it able to rival bwl's numbers say a lot about how well the song had done.
- LGO hit 200 streams almost as quickly as other highly playlisted songs, its only 3 days off from being the 3rd quickest song by Korean artist to hit 200 million on Spotify

- Similar to that of its Spotify streams, the fact that LGO got almost the same amount of views in 24 hours as BWL is extremely impressive. The MV itself was not extravagant in ANY WAY. It was probably one of if not the most chill MV in BTSs entire discography. Its the type of MV that for most acts doesn't get that many views at all (slow song, MV with a storyline instead of dancing). Yet it was again still able to compete with BWLs 24 hour view count and BWL is the type of BTS song that normally does the best (e.g. pop bts with dancing) and on top of it was a collab which helped it gain a tiny bit more interest. - LGO getting 71M views on its first day again shows the growth that BTS had during the year of 2020.
- LGO is likely locked on for 2021s Year End Hot 100 in Japan already (BTS have 2 songs locked with Dynamite and LGO from predictions). LGO will likely receive a 30M streaming certification from Oricon soon.
Worldwide charts
If we look at 2020 K-pop songs and excluding dynamite cause its an exception, LGO had the highest and best charting in Canada, Ireland, Lithuania, Scotland, Slovakia, Switzerland, UK, US, Spain, Greece, Hungary, Malaysia, and Singapore. And in most of the other countries, LGO was only second to ON.
LIFE GOES ON is one of BTSs least promoted title tracks ever, it didn't even have music show performances. Life Goes On never got any promotions on its OWN and was thus overshadowed by Dynamite most of the time, even during the times it was performed which were actually a few weeks after its release and not at release. And yes this makes a difference. If someone performs their hit song alongside another song all the time, the song that is already a hit song (Dynamite) will likely overshadow the other track.
IN CONCLUSION: Life Goes On is one of the biggest global hits out of Korea ever.

Did LGO perform worse than LSG as a title, and worse than SL ?
I thought LSG was just super popular with the GP but I noticed literally every single song inside the top 10 is experiencing an unparalleled level of longetivity
Inside the top 10 now there's 3 Digimons (IU & BTS & BP)
IU songs always do super super well but celebrity & eight are outperforming even her biggest hits & same scenario with bts & BP
Surely there's a reason the top 10 is more stable than ever nowadays since it used to be alot more volatile before
Is it the recent changes melon implemented?
Will every mid hit song in Korea end up spending 20 weeks inside the top 10 now?

I reckon we combine both melon and genie at this stage. Genie is old system, fast moving song while melon is getting very slow. Genie chart gave every song a chance to shine and chart moving fast
BTS, without any solo activity or new direction in other fields: fashion, movies, .... 1 or 2 failed comeback would put the group going straight downhill and end up disband. Scandal like D2 mixtape racism, JK covid-19 scandal can damage the group as well due to individual carelessness.
You are full of shit! LSG and when we disco has both 3.1M listeners right now and LSG is getting more new user count each day. You can check it for yourself Idiot! Again, 1 was released 3 months earlier when the listeners count was not doing that bad while the other one was released during its lowest.
If you want a fair comparison for uls, we should compare BlackPink's HYLT since this song is released when uls ain't dead. Queen alone outsold, outimpacted, outnumber1ed, outviewed, outULed, basically outeverythinged WWD, Dolphin and Nonstop LMAO so if according to your 2 braincells that those are national hits then HYLT is ultra-mega national hit. I have no problem with that, BlackPink getting 2 national hits with their first proper album wow no ones doing it like them that's another record to be added into their list. Only the biggest girlgroup of all time thingz 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Anyway, to further teach you more commonsense. South Korea has a total of 51.5M NATIONAL population but based on the latest report, there's only a total of 23M users in all music platforms and 1 korean can get up to 7 different passes as they can register to 7 different platform, see how flawed your thinking is? You seriously need basic math and statistic, I don't even think you know what a general consensus means lol. Take for example, Melon has 8.8M users but only 500k users in daily average is listening to the current number 1 song, so yes, indeed a 50k makes alot of difference dumbo! With your logic, you just simply saying that dynamite is not a national hit since not even half of the users are listening or have listened to it or no songs should've been a national hit since the WHOLE COUNTRY ain't listening to it or in this case, the 23M total listeners across all platform are not listening to them. Take note, no song in korean music history has ever reach 20M "lifetime" listeners, the #1 song of the last decade has roughly a total of 13M listeners in all platforms.
Anyway, for a song released in the 4th quarter of 2020 and apparently no buzz, no noise and has "very poor uls" yet it made on top5 in Gallup list, higher than their very own and record breaking How You Like That aka the 2nd biggest song after dynamite that made the biggest buzz and had Korean media gushing over it for 24/7.. Lovesick Girls definitely has no impact but atleast it is now the girlgroup song with the most weeks on Melon top 10 and with it climbing back to top 5 on Flo, it won't be long enough until it will become the girlgroup song with the most weeks on Flo top 10 as well. BlackPrint doing that easily in time when every other girlgroups struggle to chart for a week, the domination lokally and globally is too much for some I see

Look at Genie chart, well the song is no where in top 10 then. I don’t see bring new system to jugde the song is national hits. And the Gallup point of LSG is very low, does not make it any better.
Okay why is noone talking about how stable LSG is on the charts. For a song that flopped, it hasn’t left the top 10 in months. It literally rise to #6 on melon. How come no one talks about it.... anyways Stan these beautiful ladies.
LSG left top 10 genie for weeks. LSG and whole too 10 stay strong with the effects of new system, not on the fast moving chart. There was first in history, SMTM song stay in top 10 for more than 10 weeks, they usually rose quick but fall out very quick after 5 weeks, that’s give you an idea how slow dynamic the chart is.
First of all, get your fact straight.. LSG actually peaked at #1 on non-ul based charts that contradicts to what you say about it not hitting #1 anywhere and guess what song blocking it from #1? Yeah it's only dynamite, the bigger song and the biggest since the reform. How many times do I have to point out that LSG should be considered national hit for it's record breaking longevity and not bc of its explosive start.
With uls being low rn, a few thousand of uls especially a 50k uls makes a huge difference on charts so stop being stucked on the old chart hag! And with Melon, letting us see the total uls now, these daily uls is now becoming for chart purposes only. I remember, uls starting to hit the lowest, few weeks before dynamite when the #1 song at that time was only getting daily average of 400k - 350k uls. Since then, there's only a total of 3 songs that have reached 3M uls and that's dynamite, LSG and the refund sisters songs aka the song that almost hit 1M listeners in a day. As said, people would've consider RS's song a national hit, if only it had longevity. LSG as the song that haven't reached top 1 nor able to surpassed 700k uls in a day, yet it is able to managed that much uls. So to answer your questions, no, those old songs charting right now won't be considered national hits, most of them haven't even reach 3M listeners despite being a year older and they didn't stay a record breaking weeks on top 10 either while LSG has both the achievements. And trust me, it won't be long enough till reaching 3M uls in few months will be considered a huge achievement in Melon.
Anyway I consider, Blueming, Eight and Meteor to be national hits, they are in the same vein as Akmu's HYLTHB and now BP's LSG. Yeah not all national hits, should've insanely catchy choreo to dance to in public, most national hits outside the kpopsphere are mellow song and ballads. I still stand to what I believed that OST shouldn't be considered national hits. While the other songs you've mentioned doesn't have ground breaking achievements nor insane uls despite for it being released when uls didn't hit that low, also HYLT is bigger and more impactful than both but no, I dont think she is a national hit.

When we disco has more uls on Melon and Genie than LSG for now, same for Dolphin.
50k is make different for chart but not for country :)) Do you feel stupid now ? a national hits is NATIONAL , at least get some better number such as total uls rather than uls daily, where at the end, When we disco still have more total uls than LSG. LSG is a huge hit and leave it that way. There is no buzz or any noise, gallup is low percentage. When you say THAT MUCH ULS, it is need to be TOTAL LIFETIME ULS
Tell me, are those songs stayed inside the top 10 for straight 17 weeks like LSG?
Don't even start with the arguments of longevity over peaking at #1 coz I can give you a list of #1 songs but failing to enter top 10 weekly chart even for a week.
Just a little over a week ago, LSG was still climbing on Genie top 10, and it's stable at top 15 despite Genie currently being more infested with zoombies fans than before. And as I said, comparing to D4, LSG is doing better longevity wise in ALL PLATFORMS.. so ppl saying that LSG only has longevity bc of the new MELON SYSTEM is WRONG coz other charts remain the same than before!
The Melon chart right now is different due to reformation yet here you are keep on comparing the new system to the old system, instead embracing the new one and start adapting to the changes. Excuses, excuses, it's like talking to a wall! As I said, LSG deserves to be credited but I guess, for some of y'all, it's easier to blame the new system for kpop groups flopping and LSG's record breaking longevity. I have no problem with that actually since it has been proven time and time again that the more yall belittle and downgrade BlackPink, the harder they strive.

They are not staying in top 10 that long but their uls is only 50k different between an 1 year old song with an 4 months old. So how can you tell whether LSG is more better than them? Chart is slow, uls is low, top 40 uls is only 100k different . I dont see how you say LSG is national hits without letting Blueming, eight, METEOR, When we disco, aloha, dolphin and major of top 40 be national hits?
In this current chart, major of top 40 is national hit. So if you said LSG deserve, then the rest as well. Low uls, uls gap is not much different, not hitting No1 anywhere, wandering in the chart for nearly a year , rise in chart sometimes (major of top 40 goes up and down all the time) like LSG, which makes your claim is irrelevant as we have so many national hits now.
The dynamic of chart system Genie may give you a full picture, combined with 24hrs system charts.
