What I don't understand is why
JP is the best market for kpop and their last effort to break into it was Shinee some 10 years ago.

EXO, released an album when the group was almost 6 years old, sold decently but it was too late
Red Velvet, released an album, flopped, never tried again
NCT... no sign of the japanese subunit that was supposed to exist
And Aespa doesn't look very JP-friendly either
China seems more beneficial to them than JP

Hello guys! I'm a new into kpop!
I have some questions that I don't understand/ have answers to them
– Why BTS make Mixtape instead of an solo artist album? What the difference? From what I learned while searching that the difference is the album can be promoted and fans pay to have it and it can enter the billboard charts and the mixtape is free and doesn't enter the billboard charts or get promoted, if what I understand is right, and none of BTS members have a solo album, why RM, Suga , Jhope Mixtapes are not free at Apple Music? I know i can found the Mixtapes in YouTube for free but that doesn't make sense, Is it for supporting their work? Does the solo album never release at YouTube? Unless someone leaked it?
– Is Bighit not releasing a solo album because she wants them to stay under the Group Name? She don't want solo named at awards/billboard charts?
– How did Suga's D-2 entered the 200 Billboard chart when it was a Mixtape?
I know i'm so annoying but I really want to know
Giving free so it would not put pressure of the commercial performance. A flop solo will cause a nightmare for BTS career. Last year scandal like D2 with race issue can almost destroy BTS career unless it was just a free mixtape

Despite the very heavy competition,despite the very minimal promotion, despite being released on national holiday and also have 2 national scandal (nurse and panda scandal), Lovesick Girl is finally the longest BP song to ever chart on TOP 10 , already surpassing 100 days . Considering there's no major release besides IU, it actually have chance to break CU record, becoming the longest gg song ever to chart on top 10 melon. Literally no one see it coming, not even blinks.
i honestly think its because the song is relatable for the youth especially teenagers (well we all know ppl actually dealing with heartbreak etc).
The nurse scandal really help the song exposure to GP , but music is more Korean type, catchy chorus

With the weak of current chart, I predict AK and PAK seems reasonable. uls for the no1 only 300k , which is very low now.

The way you mentioned other people contribution but not get the award show that you low key disrespect toward it. But still, BTS received award together with Lee Soo Man and many big names in Korean pop music speaks for it.
Anw, JK got influence from many people, not only GD . JHope, V also get inspiration from other idol like IU, SuJu, SEO taiji, so does it make these people more impactful ? I don’t understand how you only bring 1 member and then said it’s the biggest impact, sound stupid. And When gen 4 rise up, they will say the same for BTS as their inspiration.
