The whole Garam scandal is what carried them to have a successful comeback

Prior to that they were nugus and people didn't care about them at all

Good thing to know the needed just Taeyeon and Aespa to help them boost their sales

It doesn't feel nostalgic as it is basically the same thing EXO and NCT have done multiple times in the past.

Also, as much as I love aespa's music, their concept feels lazy and unninspired.

pandemic, hiatus, Taeyeon carrying sm ggs, good domestic reception and more goodies on every release i guess

- Very similar music style from their pre debut era: focused on keyboards and minimalist percussions.

- Focus in storyline and the "lore".

- Romanticizing retro stuff: white vans, cassette/video tapes, etc.

- Multiple MVs and releases.

- New and fresh way to promote the group.

LOONA was indeed the scapegoat for 4th gen and, more specifically, for NJs. Remember how many times Lee Soo Man collaborated with the project? It seems kinda logic that they were keeping an eye on Loona.

Things like this would easily pass as a Newjeans song:

Loona flopped so your faves could get some inspiration

Just hope the song is not as cringy as Step Back

Twice/Gfriend/EXO era for sure

Twice only lasted 2 years at the top

I don't think they'll have a hard time trying to surpass that

The group is over. There's no point in trying to save a product that isn't profitable

you're undermining the production team of NJs. Making a good song isn't easy. And YG/Black label aren't very good at it.

As far I know My satisfaction charted on melon top 100. Royal did fine for a bside not like FY or dolphin but it’s not bad.

Well, then they're charting with four singles simultaneously in the top 10. No other girl group did that before, Twice and BP included.

Cookie was barely as promoted as Forever Young. Sure, those are self proclaimed singles by NJs company, but that doesn't mean that they are proper kpop singles as they don't have their own physical releases (or even promotion periods). Pre release singles have always done bad for girl groups.

Take Blackpink as an example, releasing two singles when they were rookies. One did well and the other flopped hard. Newjeans is clearly making history now.

Hwasa having her own show and JYP as a guest might tell you something

Ive only charts with their singles. B-side performance has always been more definning when a group is at the top.

That's not the case for 4th gen GG's, I've has digital, it girl and physicals; NJ has digital and Spotify, aespa ha physical sales. No gg has all, none of them dominate everything and very few had members the gn recognize just for themselves (ex: WY, so just Ive)

How Ive has digitals when Newjeans is literally slaying the top 5 at the moment? Not to mention they have a bunch of other songs charting too.

That NEVER happened for a girl group as much as I try to remember. The closest example for this level of digital performance might be Blackpink during DDDD era and still is not close.
