Why did Txt gain so many new fans?

  • I don’t remember I know I love you being a viral hit or anything(God’s Menu or Kick it were viral hits that boosted Nct and Stray Kids). Yet this time they’re outdoing other 4th gen boy groups in sales and charts? Why did they gain so many fans?

    Approved the thread.
  • Deserved for being unproblematic group and have clean past unlike the others

  • In charts they aren't doing anything extraordinary in comparison to other boygroups. In sales, It's better waiting for Gaon to confirm If they are or not outdoing someone. Especially because they already released 8 versions in the first day/week and Hybe have partnership with some stores to count sales on Hanteo, unlike other groups.

  • they starved armys so they jumped ship me think :pepe-tea:

  • so many salties here. Anyway the narrative that txt are flops has backfired and now people are trying to grasp straws and downplay them. They broke records for physicals, charted all their new songs on melon. You could've just dissed moas over YouTube views if you wanted to spread the narrative that they're flops you dumb dumbs.

They experienced a massive growth after the freeze era, a few tiktoks of them went viral, and stupid kpop fans made moas more strong and dedicated after constantly shitting on txt for months and getting too brave. Txt and moas are growing now, deal with it and cope.

  • sales and spotify matches like skz. nothing surprising about growth of fans due to good music. lol

the questionable ones are those who have sales but no streams to back them up

    • They starved both armys and moas. This means that many armys, especially those with company stan tendencies, jumped ship because TXT still release more content and music than BTS. And moas didn't get a proper album since last spring, they had nothing significant to spend on, and were now more eager to buy the new album.
    • They didn't grow that much, from what I'm seeing? Their stock preorders are only 100k more than those for SKZ's most recent album. Stray Kids released a full album in August, then a Christmas single in November (which was 100k short of matching TXT's full album sales I think?), in addition, it's been known since the beginning of the year that they would go on a tour. Considering all of this, that 100k gap is nothing.
    • First day sales don't say a lot about the size of the fandom, but rather how fast the albums are shipped.
    • They had the jewel case available for purchase BEFORE the release of the album afaik, while other companies often announce it a week after. I saw it being sold for 5$ on some sites.

So, I wouldn't say they're outdoing anyone in any meaningful way.

As for aspects of their growth that are specific to them:

    • I know moas hate to hear this, but TXT DO BENEFIT A LOT from being associated with BTS to this very day.
    • Moas are very present on tiktok and will create a challenge out of anything.
  • outdoing who? Next comebacks of skz and enhypen will have more sales, then txt will have more sales than them, then skz and enhypen will surpass them again and so on and so on

  • 8 month hiatus will do that.

    • I know moas hate to hear this, but TXT DO BENEFIT A LOT from being associated with BTS to this very day.

Not every Moa is that sensitive. Even the group know it. But it’s one thing that they have the benefit, they knew it and they working hard to match the expectations. If they wouldn’t make this much effort they would have the support they have from the fandom.

This is what Taehyun said today when he talked about one of their songs:

  • Physicals are on par with skz which is a growth for txt but not superior from other 4th gen. Hanteo 1st day record can be explained due to the release of all versions on the first day vs skz late release. Enhypen had less versions this year so maybe they can match up soon too.

Digitals are doing well but not superior from other 4th gen. Tbz managed to chart multiple bsides on melon with thrill Rose and debuted even higher than txt. Still, none of them charted on 24hits. Daily chart will give the final results.

YouTube is still below skz, based on how fast they reached 1 million views and such.

Spotify looks on par with enhypen and skz too.

So in short, they did great but in the same lame as other bgs that are also growing. Nothing out of this world.

  • All the essays to downplay and discredit TXT success. It's always those same users who recycle same old narrative that TXT success is because of armys or it is nothing special. Such losers lmfao.

  • Their last album was 8 months ago….if anyone was not expecting txt to beat their personal best, then you are bad at predicting.

Also I don’t like how they sold numerous versions.

I appreciated txt for being one of the few 4th Gen bg selling well with less versions compared to other bgs because I saw organic demand and real growth. I hate the multiple versions strategy that kpop groups are using to inflate sales and I’m disappointed txt jumped ship.

  • People downplay TXT too much that they believe their narrative that TXT is not as popular as the other top 4th gen BGs

  • Just further proof to what I said in my previous comment:

average seams per track excl. the title track:

  • judging from digital charting, youtube views no growth is detected. their physical growth was the effect of multiples version (8 version I heard)
