As a third gen stan, I'm starting to feel kind of sad

  • Twice's contracts are up this year, and JYP's history really does not suggest all nine will stay

Blackpink's contracts are up next year but with the way their management works it would not shock me if their next release is their last before tour and disbandment

And now it looks like BTS are preparing for enlistment. I don't think they will enlist all together, but they will definitely not be the same BTS unless it is all seven

With the future of all three of the biggest 3rd gen groups up in the air, it really does feel like the end of the era

  • Wow. What's with the doom and gloom? Yeah, time passes, things change and eventually comes to and. That's life, but guess what? New things are also born and new beginnings come to be which can be just as satisfying as the old things.

Plus, don't mourn things that haven't happened yet or may never happen. Even if it all goes away llike your worst fears come true, it was good while it lasted, right? Cherish that. It still lives in your heart.

  • Are you not looking forward to solo activities? I would really love to see who will appear more in regular variety shows, dramas, solo music, maybe Youtube etc.

We've seen them in groups for like 5+ years, I honestly can't wait for the big new changes coming, but maybe that's just me

  • Im starting to show my age here, but I felt the same when SHINHWA was becoming less and less active. But guess what, this is necessary for newer artists to be born.

Old gen plant tree, next gen water it, and the next, and the next, and now we have plenty of great trees and shades (:.

KPOP won't die, and they'll always follow this cycle. Plenty of great artists are born. Support them when you can, enjoy it as long as it last~

  • lol, RV is getting another peak in sales and spotify, Tw just peaked with their 1st eng single so the hype for the 2nd is going to be bigger, BP is BP, BTS is BTS. Got7 Is having a cmb, EXO had a lot of hype last year with their surprise release, MMM is thrilling as soloist with good sales, Seventeen have more preorder than any of their last releases, OMG has become a really good digital artist with 3 back to back hits and just renewed their contracts, I can go on and on, but OP you are very delusional if you think 3rd gen is fading when 70% is having success or doing better than a lot of 4th gens groups.

Also lets not act as if the clear generational shift wasn't in 2020 when the new groups definitely changed in comparison to 2018 groups that could pass as 3rd gen groups in age and physic.

IMO it seems sad, but it's not such a bad thing. Rather than a fizzled out end, I'd rather have them disband when they have public popularity, so the members can have support in their solo careers. Like 9+ years of group content + a good group ending is really nice.

A SNSD/Jessica type thing really hurt all parties involved.

Look at SISTAR, 3/4 members were considered filler members but they disbanded at the right time: Soyou has hits, Hyolyn had Dally before her scandal + is coming back, Dasom is on many dramas with $$ and even Bora found her niche in Pilates.

Sistar had like 1/100th of the fandom top ggs/bgs do today, they sold peanuts and had a tiny member fandom but yet they did so well with that. Imagine how well all of Twice/BP/BTS would do.

  • I'll miss BTS a lot. I hope they enlist together, 1.5 years ain't that long 🙏

    same.

the last hiatus has showed us their fandom can handle such a break, but if they go in groups it's gonna be so long before they are all together again...but, i still hope they pick the way they go without being influenced by hybe or the fans.
