sm stans have devoted their lives to that company. it's not a coincidence sm is the only company doing subunits between different groups, family concerts and etc... everything they do is selling more than well because they know how to push and keep the SMtown agenda strong
hybe stans are very weird imo because they're shooting for that company like their lives depend on it. someone will say "i hate the shade of yellow in hybe's logo" and they'll reply to you with a 20-page long essay about how this is the best colour in existence and how it corresponds with bang pd's vision for the future of kpop. but they aren't as many as sm's ones so they're 2nd place
jyp stans aren't that vocal but the fact nmixx album was one of the best selling debut albums before even the concept teasers dropped speaks volumes. still, i don't think they're as loyal as sm or hybe stans
yg stans... they're just vibing, i think most of them have accepted the fate yg will never regain the shiny image from years ago so they're dealing with what they have. also, yg hates their artists interacting so there's nothing to keep the YGfamily agenda.

This is the ranking order right now when it comes to company devotion and support:
HYBE: Le Sserafim had massive preorders, that says it all. To those people saying that only a small fraction of Army are HYBE stans, even if that were true, BTS have such a huge fanbase that even a small part of Army being company stans too still surpass the amount of company stans of other Big 4 companies in numbers. Plus I don't think it's only a small part, to many Army Bighit and by extension HYBE equals BTS, and of the big 4 fandoms, HYBE fandoms are the most positive about the company of their bias.
JYP: just like with Le Sserafim, NMIXX' album sales at debut, do we need to say more? While not as positive as stans of HYBE groups, JYP group stans are still more positive towards their bias' company than YG/SM group stans. Plus you'll see a majority of Once that are openly supportive of other JYP groups, as can be witnessed on this site.
SM: I think that it's foremostly stans of other groups that dislike SM, SM groups and SM fandoms that are the ones saying that SM stans are the most company stans. Reason for this is that people were saying that way in the past too, when it made no sense at all when fans of SM groups were the ones that hated the company the most and were the most active bashers of other SM groups and fandoms. But the people saying it were antis and stans of rival groups most of the times. Even now fans of SM groups are among the ones the most negative or indifferent about the company of their bias, with many examples of fans of 1 SM group as main bias liking other non-SM groups more than other SM groups.
YG: but the ones who're the most negative or distrusting about the company of their bias are fans of YG groups. Which is ironic, since YG stans were the most hardcore and by far the biggest, most vocal and most active in 2nd gen era. But that changed when Big Bang went on hiatus and 2NE1 disbanded. Although now with Big Bang's comeback you saw more fans of YG groups raise their head and act more like company stans again. How long that'll last remains to be seen.

this!
hybe stans may support new groups, it will always be the company itself that will have their loyalty.
if i go to twitter/akp main & say bts build that company from the ground up & hybe should be forever grateful (which seems a very fair conclusion, right?), i'll have hybe stans in my mentions in less than 2 min saying how bts couldnt do it without papa Bango and him selling his house, car, wife & 3rd child to support his sons bts or i could say pdogg uses too much autotune & they will tell me i'm an immature bald loser for not appreciating pdogg battling SATAN himself to masterfully coproducing bts' songs!
luckily, the intergroup subunits is something even hybe can't accomplish.

En, no.
Charting on K-charts = general public and non-fans
Album sales = fanbase
This is how it has always been, and also how netizens and ifans have always claimed it to be.
Don't try to change the narrative just because it suddenly doesn't suit you anymore.
But Korean gp has always love sm groups so I thought they're sm stans. RV was the most loved 3rd gen gg and now the crown has been passed to aespa.

You explained exactly what I meant. Im an army and have been observing it for years. YG and sm stans shit on the company but are loyal to their groups and music but hybe stans are more loyal to pds and ceos.

Hybe stans are the certified company stans. Many of them are on Twitter and they will throw BTS under the bus & make up excuses for HYBE when they fucked up or make mistakes.
SM stans are mostly company stans in a way that they support all the groups under SM. I think being a SM stan is better, because you still support the artists. While, being a certified company stan is beyond mentol illness.
But I guess, HYBE is still a pretty new company and only BTS was the group under them for a long time, so armys' protectiveness extend to the company. It's their narrative of 'HYBE & BTS against the big 3'. This narrative is very popular among the fandom, and I blame the army YT creators for it. But I think, this will somewhat change once HYBE would have a scandal big like SM or YG.

? This might be true on another Earth in the Multiverse (going to see Dr Strange this week
), but on this planet it's different.Gallup's the most reliable source when it comes to popularity with the general public in South Korea, and there you'll see groups like BTS, Blackpink and in the past TWICE that dominate popularity.
It has been said before, popularity with the general public =/= charting on K-charts =/= fanbase size
They might influence eachother, but they're not the same.
Which is how you can see very popular groups still have average charting songs, or less popular groups have huge chart toppers.

Idc about these surveys at all most of them are rigged, no doubt BP is the most successful GG of 3rd gen and twice in their prime (2016) were bigger than any other kpop group in korea and Japan. But Korean gp loves RV, they dropped twice quickly after some scandals and music change but they always tune into RV's comeback I realized it when they released that banana song.
