RE: Do you think top groups know about their rival fandoms hating each other and their favs?

  • OP

Hello! I think they do, especially if they're active on social media. Chan even had to once basically tell the toxic Stays to calm the fudge down (but in a much nicer way to avoid a scandal and because this is Chan we're talking about). Clip for those of you who are curious:

    Have a great day/night!

  • Curious: did it work?

Not 100% sure because I'm not on Twitter, where the worst of it happens. I going to assume not though because the ones who would have listened to what he said in the first place and taken it to heart were probably not the toxic ones. Though I did hear stories of some people pulling the "He'S nOt OuR pArEnT, wHy Is He TeLlInG uS tHiS?" card and that was very telling (to me).

  • people (humans) are crazy and it's not just limited to kpop

I remember reading something like if the saviour that is Jesus himself came back to Earth today he would be banned from some megachurches for not donating enough or the republican party would disown him as he's brown and a bit of a socialist!!! lol

  • In a more general sense, they probably know. If they're one of those idols who is always watching over your shoulder (like the previously mentioned Bang Chan), the chance of them knowing is even higher. Getting distant? It's a possibility, but I know a lot of rival groups who were actually on good terms with each other - but despite that, the fans fight over...I dunno, their own pride as a fan or something?

But honestly, seeing this thread make me think of this one part of the Happy Together episode that former-H.O.T Tony and Sechskies Jaeduck were on. H.O.T & Sechskies were both aware that their fans didn't get along (of course they were, with fights as physical as they were back in the day), so I guess some tension formed between the groups because of that. The relevant part in the video starts around 2:21.
