No. People with much smaller fandoms outside of the Kpop world can't even control theirs.

I actually think so. Like for example if an idol does something that’s racist or something and they don’t apologized that’s gonna make the fandom become more toxic and hateful. Idk if that makes sense but idols sometimes do have an impact on how there fans act.

It depends. Theres people who dont take kpop too seriously and are just vibing. Then theres the more weak minded people. It just goes from person to person. This isnt a yes or no question, its circumstantial.

yes and no. I would say positive reinforcement is nice but here you have the sweetest idols with fans being condesending bullies and bashers 24/7 towards other fandoms and groups

the very people their idols would cringe at or hate

even if an idol said " pls stop " I feel like a good portion of the fandom would remain assholes anyway

maybe a tiny portion of people in the fandom. overall no coz a fandom consists of various people with different opinions, behaviors, and cultures. Also, kpop idols don't share their personal opinions or thoughts that much

I do think it has impact. Its not a coincidence that a group with a mean girls image produces a fandom of bullies mentally on middle school level. Or that groups with more artistry and more intelligent music and lyrics attrack smarter and more capable fans.

yes. I can't speak for everyone but I can definitely speak for myself. stanning BTS did change the way my 16 - 17 year old self used to think. I wasn't acting like my normal self anymore. I started being really positive, polite and friendly but always lonely. Listening to BTS lyrics, I used to give life lessons to parents, aunties and grandparents. Everyone used to wonder why I suddenly started acting way mature than my age. A few years forward (around mid 2019), I snapped out of that persona and started acting like a normal being again. I'm still changed but I don't sound like a 40 year old anymore (I still cringe over my previous self ).

Sometimes idols definitely can impact fan's behavior like Vixx with starlights

Starlights became such a trustworthy fandom because Vixx set boundaries and called out bad behavior

I would say it depends. There are fans who can separate their fave's actions from their decisions and there are some that can't.

Regarding your question, idols do not influence their fandom. To make such an implication is a bad equivalence as such behaviours can be evidently seen across the spectrum of the current top k-pop groups or even popular western artists.

This seems to be mostly a fandom culture particularly k-pop’s to show off whose is “bigger”.

Also to the other user making a bold statement that “intelligent fans” relates to “group’s artistry” - no it doesn’t. One can still appreciate an artist or a music but still act or think like a 10 yo. It’s just k-pop fandom culture.

For me personally, I don’t go to k-pop for its music mainly other than for entertainment or concept content. They are idols and entertainers first and not my mom.

1. BP isn’t mean girls concept. It’s girl crush that’s akin to saying BG acting cool or douche producing mean fan girls. Poor implication.

2. When you have to bring that the later is better than the first to show a contrast that one fandom is better and the other isn’t that capable and intelligent, this shows arrogance and being degrading

it does. it's just the intensity of impact that varies. not just the idols but the fandom as well it's all linked to the interactions fans have along with the very nature of indivisual.
