Is it okay for straight actors to play gay characters?

It’s called acting
-
is it ok that a Gay actor plays a straight roll...?
of course
it is like asking if a good person (actor) can play a murderer
it is acting, pretend to be something you are not
cos even a gay/straight actor can be very different from the character they are playing
your gender is not your whole personality, thou people like to see it that way

It’s a very slippery slope and assumes your sexuality should be public knowledge. That is fundamentally different from other forms of visual representation like say race or gender.
So the answer is : you are not entitled to know the sexuality of actors or anyone.

Of course, it's acting. Might as well just make documentaries if you don't want anyone playing someone who they aren't exactly like.
Of course gay actors should get more opportunities, whether that's playing gay, bi or straight characters. The guy who plays Anthony in Bridgerton is gay but it doesn't stop his ability to play straight, and nor should it.
