i tried reading lots of bl stories but dropped most (all?) of them, they are so damn toxic and full of sexual assault, coercion, and reluctance and worse, it's romanticized. if there are healthy bl manhwa i'm open for suggestions.

as for the topic; shippers don't care about gay rights, they don't want their faves to be gay, they want their faves to be gay for each other. god forbid if their fave acted in a bl, they might think he's gay and they cannot have that

It's really riveting, I'm already at book 4 (there are 5 books total and an epilogue) and there wasn't a single dull moment. The bl stuff is like a backdrop to the investigative work so it's less of a bl novel and more of a thriller where the main characters happen to be gay. That's usually Priest's style, I read another of her novels and it was very political (sha po lang)

BTW, if you're really planning to read Mo Du, you should pay attention to the warnings. (the novel however REALLY doesn't romanticise or normalise any of the stuff in the warnings you can find in the carrd

this one is shounen- ai tho, not bl (so not sexual content like sematic error)

its probably some not very well know idols bc I dont think big companies will put idols from big groups in webdramas based in webtoons, if they intend for them to play a LGTBQ role I feel they would go for smth that is original written

nah there are a TON of bl manga/manhwa out there (it’s a very lucrative business after all 😅), and the toxic portion is still only a portion of it, the rest thankfully isn’t toxic at all, you just haven’t checked out enough / haven’t had the correct tools to find what you’re looking for lol. Admittedly i’m much more well-versed in japanese manga than korean manhwa, so I don’t have a long list of very good bl manhwa titles i can rehearse off the top of my head lol; the only manhwa series that’s recommendable that i can recall rn is wolf in the house, but that one has a certain supernatural element that idt a beginner reader like you would appreciate too much lol

Anyway i know much more about japanese manga and can confirm there are many good bl manga titles out there. Yes there’s a lot of shitty ones too lol but the good portion does exist 😅

This is why I’m 50/50 on many BL series coming from Asia. Like cool the dudes are hot af, but they romanticize gay life as if its unicorns and rainbows. In reality gays have no place in society in many of these conservative countries. It doesn’t help that they give out these roles to straight men, who at times are homophobic themselves.

They’re taking advantage of the gay money without actually supporting gays.

Sidenote…. But I still do stan Vachirawit lol only cause he’s beautiful af. lawd…. lol.
