HYBE is being cheap with their MV's, why?

    Seeing all the new releases from the big 3 (NMIXX, Red Velvet, taeyeon, Treasure,..) it's clear how cheap hybe is with their MV's.

    SM and YG are known for spending big money on their acts' videos, but even JYP has been generous.

    compared with them, bts' & enhypens latest MVs (BWL,dynamite, butter,Blessed-Cursed..) seem very low quality.

    Suga even admitted that for his Daewchita MV Lumpens wanted to go very basic & it was only on his insistence that we got the amazing video we have now..


    Is Hybe being stingy with their videos?

    Or has Lumpens lost its touch/gone lazy? they used to make some amazing MV's (Fake love, bst, Mic drop,..).

    Yeah I'm not satisfied with their mvs nowadays. They used to create incredible ones, look at blood sweat and tears for example.


    Blessed-cursed's mv is very suitable for the vibe of it and the storyline so I would call it a wise choice to keep it that way. But enhypen's debut mv given-taken felt like they created it with five dollars worth of a budget.. Thankfully the song's quality made up for it

    Because they're a money prrinting machine. Maximum profits for minimal exertion. Remember the BTS photobook that looked like it came straight off a school printer, not even stapled? The writing was on the wall then.

    This is why I keep my expectations very low for their ggs' debut MVs. I hope they don't allow Lumpens to touch any of the new groups' MVs. Hybe, you got Min Heejin, make good use of her.

    i think hybe showed long ago that they want easy profit for minimum efforts. look at how they keep trying to snatch already popular female idols to put in their future ggs, they don't want the risk of building up a group from the scratch. they are the nouveau riche of kpop's companies.

    That's what happens when you became rich over night. Not literally but BTS must be a miracle that happened to them. Their growth was too fast and made them too rich so they become too relaxed and don't want to try hard anymore.

    HYBE is such a big company but they couldn't even give their artists a high quality mv.

    Blood sweat and tears will always be iconic because of its quality and aesthetic.

    Their japanese mvs are my favorites.

    Seems pretty much everyone is on the same page. Agree that hybe either has no idea how to work like a huge billion dollar company bc they got there pretty much over night (bts did it relatively fast & without much interference of the company) or they just dont wanna spend money on it.


    Also, what are your opinions on lumpens? Do you think they are done for or just needs a good long vacation?

    Just hope bts & enhypen use other companies for their next mv's, but i doubt it. The blind loyalty in that company for the OG team is immense (its commendable, but also holding them back)

    from their recent releases i only like daechwita, but like you said that was all suga; and blessed-cursed, i love the early 2000s vibe. the rest? cheap.

    They need a new mv director, lumpens mvs nowadays are horrible

    Also the money hybe makes from bts is hybe's money not bts', they have a profit sharing contract for a reason and it's hybe producing bts' music merch and content. They can spend that money however they want and they're spending it on both txt and enhypen as they should.

    No BTS money is being spent to Enhypen. It’s CJ’s money on debut but Hybe is contributing to their music - in charge of the artistuc sude . But in 2021, they are earning more than enough w/ all those physical sales ( 1.2 million for D:D and 800K for B:C) , merchs and some endorsements ( Ami, Abib and recently Nike). They also had Japanese album in 2021 and in Japan alone they earned more than 12 million dollars in 2021 alone! Their albums , dvds and merchs sold probably 10x more globally!

They also have new ost for japanese drama, 3 fashion magazine covers in 2022, one in Korea , one in Philppines which both sold a lot, and one more coming in Japan . So yes, Enhypen is more than profitable and making a lot of money for Hybe!!

    i dont think Hybe is being cheap at all. It’s SM mvs that are cheap. This OP just hates Hybe. 😂
