A video of Big Bang Daesung predicting Seungri’s withdrawal from the group 5 years ago has recently become a hot topic.

    Bigbang

The DVD content of “BIGBANG’s 2017 WELCOMING COLLECTION” released in 2017 showed Big Bang members gathering and performing a situational play under the theme of “2022 Big Bang”.

The members acted as if they were in 2022.

In the video, Daesung jokingly, “Seunghyun (Seungri’s real name), how are you? What have you been doing while we four are promoting together?”

Upon hearing Daesung’s words, Seungri said, “I heard Daesung hyung had cosmetic surgery, but your eyes look the same as before”. He then turned to Taeyang and asked, How is your wife doing?”. BigbangBigbang

Taeyang then told Seungri, “Did things get resolved well? You kept calling me and asking me to lend you money. You suffered. Your ban on entering the country has finally been removed,” making Seungri bewildered.

The video, which resurfaces every year, is being talked about again in 2022. Netizens who watched this left comments such as “Wow, this gives me goosebumps” and “The members must have known to some extent”.

Meanwhile, Seungri was found guilty for 9 charges, including arranging prostitution in connection with Gangnam Club Burning Sun. The court sentenced Seungri to a year and six months in prison at the appeal trial, considering Seungri‘s admitting to all charges and his reflection. Due to this, Seungri withdrew from BIGBANG and announced his retirement from the entertainment industry.

Recently, T.O.P drew attention by posting a photo of 4 members of BIGBANG excluding Seungri on his personal Instagram.

  • LOOOL… I have totally forgot about this.

Well they have warned Seungri about the people he hang out with on television as well. He should have listened to his Group members.

If you follow the wrong people you will go down with them.

  • Exactly… all you can do is to give them advice or a warning. If they don’t listen, whatever happens isn’t your business anymore.

I know it's extremely hard but if they know he's doing illegal stuff which I'm sure they are aware, they can report him to the cops.

I don't think they knew about it that much. Seungri barely used to hang out with them, the other 4 often go out with each other but Seungri always hangs out in his own friends' circle. TOP once said that he saw Seungri's friends at a Bigbang's concert once and they didn't seem like good people to him and he mentioned that he wished Seungri chose his friends wisely. So while they did know that his friends doesn't seem like good people, there's no guarantee that they knew about his illegal stuffs as well. I'm not saying they 100% didn't know but giving a thought that maybe they really didn't know that deeply.

People were living with a serial killer under one roof and despite behaving strange they never knew.

You only know as much about someone as that person is willing to show.

  • Yeah, I still remember what TOP said about his friends on that Radio Star ep but it's hard to police an adult

Gd even said about in one of his song .

    Middle finger up.

    It goes like this

    What do you want, kid?

    You say, "We've met before."

    What? No, we haven't.

You say, "I'm close friends with Seungri."

    So what?

You ask me, "Can you give me your number

So we can get together sometime have a drink?

I know a lot of pretty girls."

But why in the hell would I give you my number?

    Who are you?

  • We'll never see an idol playing up to a sleazy image again. I never liked Seungri, and you could see his issues from a mile off - over-inflated ego, low self-esteem, struggling with being the least talented member, desperate to be the richest member - but I wonder how much this kind of thing set him up. He is arguably a victim of his fame. And before anyone jumps at me for saying that - can you name without looking them up the two idols who are finishing up their prison sentences for drugging and r-wording women on multiple occasions and then sharing the r clips online? They got crazy light sentences because hardly anyone knew them and no-one was baying for their blood because they were busy enjoying the downfall of Seungri/YG.

Once the hysteria died down all they got him for was booking sex workers. In Korea sex work is illegal the same way it's illegal most countries. Technically against the law, but also everywhere (a male idol got caught at a salon last year and the only reason it was even a thing was because of covid restrictions). My guess is that Seungri put a genuinely powerful nose out of joint, and that's what caused a lot of the YG mess that year. (It also makes me wonder if those gold phone victims would ever have seen any justice without it.)

  • I completely forgot about this song, GD must have been so pissed at them that he wrote Middle Finger Up

The priority was clear, Seungri was made the scapegoat. He was thrown to the wolf’s while the others who committed unthinkable crimes kinda got away with the publics judgement probably even legal ones. He was the bigger name, member of the biggest BG in Korea and therefore clickbait attracter. He did a lot of bad things and of course deserved to be exposed, but his overall involvement in the whole situation was the smallest. So many people were arrested for being involved in organized sex-crimes, drug dealing, bribery, rape, illegal filming, pimps the list goes on…. But we don’t know what happened to them. The Burning Sun just relocated and reopened again. But people apparently care so much about the victims that they feel Seungri kinda got away with his crimes, not realizing that because their focus was solely on him, a whole bunch of people got away with serious crimes involving actual victims….. but if you bring this up they call it whataboutism and you just trying to deflect to defend him… lol ok.

These two rapists would have got a way higher sentence if the publics outrage towards them was as big as Seungri’s… but many people aren’t ready for that conversation.

I said it before and this is something you can find out with a quick Google search, prostitution is illegal in Korea by law but still a very openly operating business and the only time they do something about it is if a high profiled person is caught, otherwise they don’t give two cents.

If a famous person is involved in a scandal like that or the scandal happened during a time were one specific topic is what everyone’s talking about, very often it brings awareness to a situation that would have probably got no attention at all cause many people only care if a famous person is involved or if it’s a currently hot topic … it can be seen as a good thing. But the bad thing is that that many people have the tendency to than just focus on the famous person or topic point and make the whole issue about them/it even though its much bigger than them/this and it corrupts the whole investigation and how the media deals with it.

This leads to other people involved getting away with their crimes or getting a way to low sentence .. and victims not getting their right justice.

Maybe it's naive of me, but I don't think they knew what he was doing precisely. I think they knew what his priorities were -- which tbh, anyone could know; he openly positioned himself as a "businessman" who prioritized making money over everything else -- and it was obvious his priorities weren't in staying with the group long-term. And I think they knew that he was the type to care more about what you could do for him than whether it was ethical or moral.

I'd keep a guy like that at arms' length too. Try to avoid getting his shit on you, especially when you can't control that he's your coworker.

    let's be friends
