Jennie can easily afford a luxury home in LA and why not. She has famous friends who live there, she could easily start a film career with her talent and meet with directors and heads of studios if she wanted to pursue that.
Plus she endorsed the biggest brands so having a home in LA makes incredible business sense for her

My take is that she didn't mean that literally and the part she said she never swims in the pool may hint why the management rented a house with a pool when she doesn't use it.
