Does fandom behavior or general kpop stan behavior affect how you feel about kpop?

absolutely. sometimes i just step away for some time
-
-
Yeah, I am too old to be quoting teenagers on Twitter.
So, yeah, sometimes I avoid certain threads and certain Twitter tags if I think there are certain stans and fandom wars lurking in there.
The immaturity, the lack of empathy, the rabidness, the delusion. It's too much.
-
Sometimes it's more peaceful to stan a group alone. It's sad cuz this shared love should bring people together and be fun

Step away from forums and social media or kpop entirely?

I get that. I mean, the fandom wars are one thing. Sometimes I can't even handle the rabidness and delusion I see from fellow fans. Like, calm down. Ultimately it's just music. Twitter is a cesspool.

not really

-

Exactly. It's scary that it goes from music to us vs. them. Or a possessiveness over another human being.

oh like twitter? yeah sometimes i dont like the topic being discussed on the tl so i log off
sometimes i block the accs
but here on akp, its cool
Yes, for the most part I've found akp to not be as toxic as twitter or reddit or youtube comments

-
not at allwhy would I let some strangers on internet effect my love for something
I try not to, but sometimes if I see a lot of strife and squabbling, especially if people are trying to argue with me personally, it just makes me tired.

omg, i actually have experienced people getting jealous if i had the same bias as them....
-
-
Right? Like it's especially crazy when i see interfandom squabbling, bullying, and gatekeeping. Like, let people enjoy your shared fave the way they want to!
Yeah they be dragging each other down just for having different opinions or likes.
-
See, i find that really sad cuz sharing the love of a group can really be enjoyable and give a great sense of community.... if people will allow it...
-
Yes! i feel extremly weird about hardcore fans maybe because i can't relate like when i am a fan of someone it just means i enjoy their music or acting or personality they display but i don't think i have ever hard stanned anyone to the point where i am obsessed with it everyday so when i see really hardcore fans that talk like them and their favorite idols are one or stuff like that it kind of freaks me out i find it so weird how obsessed some people can get and it kind of makes me worry for them like i don't think is healthy too stan that hard and so a lot of times i tend to not interact much with other people that like kpop

I've been dog piled on before by a fandom I was in for being too honest. I don't want to be in a community which does not accept mild dissent.
Edit: I'm withholding opinions right now. I don't want to be a Debbie Downer to those with low tolerance for criticism.

do you feel you are a more casual fan simply because you stay away from the fandom stuff or do you have a more casual connection to your faves than you once did? Do you love the music the same way?
-
oh, i try to avoid it tho! lol
-
-

Even if they both love and support the same group!

I feel that way too sometimes. Like I love to squee and be super excited and I think my faves' music is truly awesome. Like, I could listen to just my faves all day long. But sometimes people display a kind of emotional connection that I just honestly don't understand. At the end of the day, I don't know these people and there other music....

Even if they both love and support the same group!
and that really surprises and scares me

I find different opinions interesting. I love discussing my fave! As long as someone isn't being insulting, rude, or just intentionally bringing people down, I don't mind critical opinions. I don't think my faves hung the moon. They're not great at every single thing they do. It's fine. I love them anyway. And I just really really love discussing them. If you're really interested in my faves, then I'm happy to debate and to mildly rib you about your terrible taste in your favorite songs lol.
-
Like, I don't generally leave my house voluntarily, but I don't think fans like that have ever even seen grass. Imagine being pissed over A BIAS. I'm super happy to talk with someone else that love Baekhyun or Kihyun or Jinyoung. I mean, I'll push you down at a fan meet if that means getting closer to my bias, but discussion is all good lol

Honestly: I'm a poor sport myself. I just like things calm.

Yeah I'm generally just not the super enthusiastic spazzy fanboy that I used to be,I'm a lot more chill now.I still love the music,I'm a casual listener of many groups, but I only stan Enhypen.
Come to think of it,maybe it's an age thing. When I first got into k-pop I was a hormonal middle schooler and I am now in my early-to-mid 20s,so maybe that's playing a part too.
-
I used to feel this more. There was a time I thought of leaving akp. But later I became more indifferent. I also try not to engage with certain users and stay in my EXO zone
I personally never had a remarkably negative experience with my own fandom. But even if I did it wouldnt be a reason to stop listening/stanning them.
But it would be a lie if I say it doesn't effect how I perceive other groups. Some positively some not so I wish I didnt feel so but I cant help it

lol, oooh. Well, that's valid too. Some people really like to keep things very positive. I find that the guilds are good places for that. Those should be appreciation zones. Or some people make threads and let it be know that they are for appreciation only. I respect that. Just don't ever join in one of our bside battles. Those are a war zone! lol I'm kidding. But we do like to tease eachother.
-
I have never stopped stanning an idol or group but I have become a silent stan. Where you would not know I love them unless you started conversations with me about them....
