visual do play a part in deciding if i should stan them or not... initially
however if the said visual is talentless, as in, average vocal skill, average dance skill, can't rap, have no particular interesting role whatsoever then it would be such a turn off
i would say visual is a good boost, and its up to them to maintain that hype
I don't know the extent but this is generally how I operate: If someone isn't tall or doesn't have good proportions, they need a nice face and a nice vocal tone. If someone is handsome and is tall or has good proportions, they don't need a good vocal tone. If someone has good height and a good voice they can have a dumpling face. It's a 2 out of 3 rule (height/proportions, face, voice).
I'm a facial expression/stage presence stan.
Maybe 40%… the looks is what I see first, but I need to like the overall persona too.
I think for me, only visuals won't do
Because there are some groups that look gorgeous but still can't click with me
I'd say the expressions are very important to me though, because I like watching the performances and MVs
There's no denying that being attractive gives someone a leg up in society and I'm sure it confers an advantage in idol groups too. However, stanning is not attraction in my book - so I don't think it plays that big of a factor, or else I'd stan a hell of a lot of idols since I think most idols are above average in attraction.
