  • I just watched the recap. So basically they dropped the 2122 quota because they supposedly listened to the criticism or something like that? lol that's convenient. I tend to think they always knew it wouldn't hold but pushed this quota narrative in order to create tension and keep the audience interested. It was also a way to give meaning to the grade system, which would have been pointless otherwise. And now that most contestants have been eliminated, they can get rid of it.

apparently PD of the show said it even during press conference that they will ditch this system

in same time I don't understand why they are doing that challenge and let girls line and pick individual opponents to then just make those girls not ranking in top 7 to first have group battle between themselves, like wtf...

Well, why not. It's all about creating drama and tension. I think the fact the challengers were offered to compete against the top contestant of their choosing is not a bad idea. Of course, pitting the challengers who picked the same top contestant against each other is just a way to add an extra step before the finale. At this point, they're just trying to make the show run a little longer but I don't feel like things can change much now. I think most top favorites are pretty secure in their spots.

  • So the show ended ? And if so is this group permanent ?

No it's not over. In the latest episode a provisional group was formed with the top seven contestants from the different grades, according to the grade quota (2-1-2-2). But right after that, they said the grade quota was not relevant anymore, and any contestant could try and steal a debut spot from one of the provisional members.

  • How does this 1v1 Live Challenge thing work in conjunction with the Public Vote?

Like how does someone like Yooyeon who is hugely popular with the General Public but I doubt can win 1v1 against someone like Mihee going to be affected by this?

I honestly suspect they will be either stacking the Live Audience for each act with fans of a specific contestant or will just manipulate the Live Vote which won't get tracked by any 3rd Party like the online vote was for Produce anyway

Either way I think the Shows Producers will still get the lineup they want and will now mostly deceptively edit the episodes into making the audience agree with them

  • I think it's gonna work the same way it did for previous performances: they gonna combine the live on-site audience's score with the online score. The only thing is, they never really said how much each score weighted in the final score. So for all we know, the online score might represent 80% of the final score; if so, even a contestant with a poor live performance can qualify. That's why I think someone like Yooyeon is pretty safe. And also why a great performer with solid all-round skills like Choi Sarang got eliminated. She received good scores overall from the live audience, but ranked very low in the online polls; most likely because she was never really favored by the editing. Even her admission performance, which she did solo and for which she received approval by all four judges, was almost completely edited out of the TV airing.

  • Now that it is down to 21 contestants does anyone have a feeling of what the Final lineup will be?

    When it was 2,1,2,2 it was pretty obvious to me who it would be;

Bouen, Seon-you, Riwon, Hyunhee, Yunseo, Yooyeon and Chaewon

But now if I had to guess, they will try to get Minami into the lineup for obvious reasons (Japanese $$$)

Probably only Bouen from 1st Grade

Riwon still too crazy popular to not make it in

I see a distinct possibility of only 1 3rd Grade making the Final lineup (Hyunhee)

Yooyeon and Chaewon are too far ahead in Grade 4 imo

And I sensed they were trying to push Jimin too by the editing the last couple of episodes

So maybe a Final Lineup of 1,3,1,2

Either way going to be allot of unhappy viewers considering the constant changes

  • It's hard to say. As I said above, I think there are a few contestants who are pretty safe: Chaewon, Yooyeon. But the online ranking had a real shake-up lately: for some reason, all 3rd graders lost 2 to 6 spots in the rankings; even Kim Hyunhee is no longer Top 7.

At the same time, the 2nd graders keep shining. Riwon seems very well liked even though she looks very young. There's also a lot of competition between Jimin and Minami; all these girls look fantastic and would be great additions to any group. I don't think there will be a spot for each of them in the debut group though.

Boeun too is highly ranked. I wouldn't mind her to lose her spot to someone else though. She still looks like a child and I'm not sure how she would fit in a group with significantly older members.
