Are there any kpop reactors or vocal analysts that will actually say when they don't like something?

  • Most of the ones I've seen just seem to hype everything and seem like they are just playing to the fandoms for views. They can't possibly like everything to the extent they are portraying. I would especially love to hear a vocal instructor who would actually say when the technique could be improved.

  • Caitlin Benson - she doesn't just outright drag something, but she'll admit if she's not vibing with something as much as she expected or wanted to. Most of her reactions are to groups she's already a fan of so of course she's gonna point out the things she does like about it just to keep positive vibes.

  • yeahh, that's how i feel too.

i usually just see them hyping it up and im like

aren't you a bit excited for someone who's never seen this before? :pepestare:

  • My take on reactors these days though is this... I know there are some reactors who choose to only upload positive reactions and so if they don't like or aren't feeling as song or video then they just won't upload it and that's fine. I get it. Likewise there are some that do get excited (especially newbies to kpop) because some people are just extra and I get that too.

My biggest issue are the ones like this channel I used to watch... he would react to anything certain big groups did (BTS and Blackpink ofc) and would lose his mind which would have been fine if he had ever actually taken the time to learn about these groups that he was supposedly a huge fan of. Don't get me wrong, I don't expect people to go out and learn everything about every group and every member... but when you're out here watching and reacting to MVs and color coded videos and dance practices and guides and meme compilations and going into full on stan behavior over the course of months and you can't even name the members? That's a problem to me. That's a sign that you're just doing it for the clicks and aren't actually absorbing anything. That's what pisses me off.

  • Almost forgot... ReacttotheK has reactors that will say they don't like something. They still break down the song, but several of them have been vocal about not liking different songs.

omg, I thought they were going to react to other group's songs. That would have been epic! (but bad for their careers lol)

  • Those channels are bullshit I once saw one "vocal coach" react to Lisa money (no shade to Lisa) but he said something about her being a vocal powerhouse and I had to click off like sir do you need to lie? My god

yeah, i saw one where the vocal coach was meh on one singer in an early video (in a gentle way and the singer was a sub vocal in a group that wasn't top tier, so it was pretty low risk), so I thought maybe the coach would be honest. But then I watched some later videos when he was clearly more familiar with kpop and he was praising everything to high heaven including some vocals that were clearly not that great. Like, c'mon now. I have ears. Don't piss on me and tell me it's raining. And it was crazy for him to do it, cuz he sells lessons. Like, I don't want singing lessons from a guy who thinks THAT sounds good.

  • It sucks though cuz I do like when they point out things that I don't know like when they say the singer is using mix voice or they are or aren't properly placing in the mask etc.

They just give an opinion, i think their opinion is not better than mine or than something i can read here on akpop. I don't believe any of their so-called expertise.

We very often forget it but the Kpop industry is professional, real professionals never judge other professionals lightly like that on youtube especially in a field like art which has a great deal of subjectivity.

We must not forget that these youtubeurs also have the pressure of the fans. What will happen if one of them says they don't like the latest BTS or Blackpink song? We all know it will end very badly. Most go with the fans opinions to increase their views and become popular.

That's why I don't care about their opinions and I take it as entertainment nothing else. Their opinions are of no value to me.

These so-called producer, coach or former dancers are so talented that they all ended up on youtube between a gameplay on fortnite and an opening of pokemon cards :pepe-clown-gear:
