I think Kpop is best when clearly linked to a strong Korean presence and with it in the driver seat.
Kpop unmoored from Korea has a tendency to become ubiquitous and undistinguished from international taste and trend.
My favorite memories and groups in kpop are fostered by times when the Korean presence and relationship with my favs (and kpop) was at its zenith.
There's just an unmistakable magic when kpop is made to a Korean public that is excited and interested and is actively cultivating a closely linked Korean centric ecosystem, rather than a mere pipeline to international export.
The magic of kpop is Korean. And taking the nation (and its quirks and sensibilities) out of focus dispels that magic, in my opinion.

My faves already had like 2 World Tours but covid happened
So hopefully they will tour again after everyone is done with enlistment and Ima get my tickets. Please let icy have their tickets
