{bts} do other armys feel this way too?

  • The kpop system gives idols an expiry date.

Companies including hybe let's be real here push new acts and market them towards older acts fans .

They also give older acts less things to do so that fans naturally wanna transfer to acts making content.

In that sense , BTS is an exception , first of all, they are really passionate about music and will never stop making it.

Also, most armys only really care abt BTS and majority don't come from the kpop world so they weren't in on the kpop parameters. So yeah i agree that bts and armys are defying that ugly mentality.

  • It is not just idols who age out, but also fans.

Tastes trend towards melodies and ballads as people age, is universally observed, and k-pop isn't an industry that is famous for catering to that taste.

Also melodies don't need groups either.

So it will be interesting if BTS continues as a group, still make music of the sort they make today and achieve new fans

Nostalgia fans, will be a shrinking population, the key is if they can attract new younger fans.

But that's still atleast a decade away, to see a significant change.

  • I do agree with the sentiment but not with those words.

Too much credit given to ARMYs there. I have seen many "ARMYmultis" act this way too so I don't think ARMYs are exception here. There is a reason why alot of "ex-ARMYs" exist. Most of them are just another kpop fan who think like the way OP in the tweet mentioned hence "unstan" BTS. Most kpop fans have this mentality and these ARMYs are amongst those kpop fans.

I have always felt kpop fans give too much importance to companies (for success as well as failure of the groups) they do not deserve. So BigHit is also not the exception.

If anyone.... BTS are the exception, not ARMYs or BigHit. BTS continue to grab new fans year after year. They continue to wow people with their music, their talent, their passion, their performances and most importantly themselves. BTS dominate because of the members. Not anyone else.

    A great post <3

  • BTS aren’t even following the typical western boyband pattern. They are following rock band pattern. They will be a touring force for years to come which is the ultimate for any act over 30. They will remain together for a long time and be successful. I am glad they have someone like Coldplay to now aspire and communicate with.
