why is aespa flopping in spotify?

  • even with so called viral hit, itzy is still outstreaming them globally.

    Approved the thread.
  • Itzy have stronger international appeal. It's just their songs are still a bit weak, and their rap parts don't hit and will never.

Next Level (did you get your coins yet Kevin Rudolf?) might chart in South Korea for five years, but Aespa still won't be a threat to anyone. Their concept is getting dated already. And outside of their obsessive cult followers the international support is just not there. I could see that in the Mama fanvote when "GG of 2021" only barely scraped into the top 20.

  • aespa is just like nct - popular domestically, gainijg a big fanbase but the music is terrible and no one outside of their fandoms listens to it. that's what the spotify streams suggest

  • The delusion is hilarious of aespa are flopping on Spotify then wtf is itzy doing on melon? And Fyi their fan base is smaller than Itzys using Spotify when aespa are literally beating them in every other plat form makes 0 freaking sense.

Just lying for the hell of it and you corny af its always a trooper stan. Aespa are the leading 4th gen GG no amount of lame jokes and revisional history can or will change that. Itzy has had 2 almost 3 years to establish a fandom aespa has had 1 year and their Spotify numbers are catching up already.

  • it's called doing average not flopping. Baby steps

  • Aespa domestic charting is way better than itzy's spotify streams. Choose your fighter. Want to have average spotify streams or flop charting in home country?

I don't think aespa hype is gonna last for too long in Korea either unless they come up with better songs

Melon has less than 5m users right now and dropping, Spotify has near 180m paying users. Yeah. Talk about Melon in a thread about Melon. This isn't the thread.

Itzy's streams are nothing compared to the streams of western artists so bringing up number of users on Spotify just makes itzy's streams look bad. It's not even half as much as blackpink's . The bside streams are very low. People overrate their international popularity. They are currently the biggest fourth generation group internationally but nothing out of this world.

  • Aespa aren't flopping - they are doing perfectly average for an SM group on Spotify. I doubt they will ever do much better unless SM changes up their music style and drops all the lore.

I think people are more prone to think Aespa are flopping because theirs stans are so eager to claim they are already #1, having surpassed 3rd gen groups like BP and Twice in all categories, but then you look at their Spotify stats and see that that is very far from reality...

    - Aespa are just 13 months old and have 2 songs about to reach 100M streams on spotify (something Itzy couldn't do)

    - Black Mamba has the highest 1st day opening for a kpop debut song

    - Black Mamba is about to be the fastest kpop group debut to reach 100M streams on spotify

    - They had a 5 million monthly listener peak at 11 months old (something Itzy couldn't do)

    - Their 'Savage' album had a bigger 1st week opening than any album Itzy ever released

    - Their song 'Savage' debuted with 1M+ streams in 24 hours and are the fastest 4th gen group to achieve this & did it in 11 months (maybe fastest kpop group in general but idk)

    - Fastest 4th gen girl group to reach 1M followers on spotify

    - Spotify chose 'Next Level' as best kpop song of 2021

(Maybe I missed some so somebody pls add them if there are any left)

In conclusion, aespa are actually doing very well on spotify! They have broken many kpop records in a year and like someone above said, aespa are beating Itzy in every other platform so there is no use for your post.

  • No one other than sm stans listen to sm music. This new girl group from sm will prove this again.

  • who cares about spotify ?

most of the people who are "streaming" on spotify aren't even going to buy artist album

and it's not like because they have high stream on spotify , they are relevant in western country because most of the so called big internationally group you all talk about are completely irrelevant in the west and it'll stay like this

at least aespa have a market where they are relevant

  • But people who are irrelevant in those countries sell oer 100k albums in the US or can book Arena tours of tens of thousands of people.

Don't confuse mainstream with success. It's all relative. I mean let's not act like Mys didn't make a whole celebration thread when Aespas US sales rose 220% when they sold an extra like 50 copies last week lol

  • on some obscure yt chart in SK ? '-'

well i don't know where you live but Youtube in SK is slowly becoming one of the biggest music platform in korea, so knowing this i don't see how it help your case '-'

Charting on YT for longer than Dynamite is relevant how when Dynamite is a song which has accumulated more views/streams from South Korea in the same span of time, which any idiot knows is a more accurate measure of success than who charts longer.

Aespa stans getting a reality check anyways with the new flop song, this is what happens to fads. Mys should worry about newly debuting gg than harbouring delusions where they start comparing Aespa to BTS over some obscure records and charts.

  • Impartial context based purely on both of their last released title track. Please correct if numbers are wrong.

    Loco

    Released 95 day ago.

    Current streams(unfiltered) 69, 129, 839

Avg streams per day 727, 682

    Savage

    Released 84 day ago.

    Current streams(unfiltered) 50, 007, 321

Avg streams per day 595, 325

Loco averages around 133k more daily streams than Savage.

    Some stats.

    Itzy current ML's 5, 608, 913

    Total playlisting reach 11.7 million

    Aespa current ML's 4, 193, 940

    Total playlisting reach 15.2 million.

Conclusion! Itzy do overall a decent bit better than Aespa on Spotify while also benefiting from about 4 million less playlisting and achieve more than 1.4 million monthly listeners.

You troopers sound dumb af why would MYs care about a collab group releasing 1 damn song when Itzy being replaced ss we speak? And fads yet their unpromoted SM station remake out charting promoted comebacks sit tf down.

  • And you all keep ignoring one group 2 years old almost 3 and 1 group is 1 year old one group has 20 plus songs 1 group has 10 if the roles were reversed the same folks trashing aespa (hybe stans jyp stans) would come up with a million reasons why their faves weren't matching a group with 2 years ahead stream numbers on 1 damn app.

  • But people who are irrelevant in those countries sell oer 100k albums in the US or can book Arena tours of tens of thousands of people.

Ctfu name one GG besides big 3 doing arena tours? Name one bg? I promise you Itzy not selling out arenas. And as usual an enegene at the scene of the crime sis need to worry worry about Mr chompers instead of aespa numbers.

  • aren't yall like to say that aespa songs are only listened by 'sm stans' and that they're only popular in sk? And going on and on with how their music will not click with western audience? So now the narrative change to how they should be popular in western world and everywhere else?

But people who are irrelevant in those countries sell oer 100k albums in the US or can book Arena tours of tens of thousands of people.

You mean this thread that barely reach one full page with only few mys commenting?

  • It's all relative. Aespa are doing really good in SK so they do good in their charts. I think itzy was made for more of an international audience so they are doing in spotify. And honestly itzy and aespa aren't that different on spotify. It's not like a huge difference and aespa is still a new group so they don't have a fanbase to stream their music on spotify.

  • Non mys likes to spreading misinformation as usual. No wonder we need to bring factual data and instead getting called as success stan (smh).

I checked the data, the gap is not that big even nowadays Next Level outstreaming MITM daily streams.
