NCT 127 - Kick It
Choreographers: Jung Koosung, The Quick Style, Julian DeGuzman, Brian Puspos
This is another one of my favorite choreos - the TikTok-able "new thangs" dance is instantly iconic but this choreo is full of so many cool elements, like the fight scene with Mark to the b-boy breaks to the dramatic isolations. As with a lot of later choreo, this is less about synchronization and more about the vibe and attitude - the dancers do move in sync in portions, but if you've seen covers and you wonder why it's not the same, it's the attitude - that Neo swag - that's missing.
This is a choreo that I thought I would get tired of for all the times I saw it last year, but never did.
The Quick Style are frequent collaborators, as you've seen. The other choreographers haven't done another Neo choreo: Jung Koosung is a Korean choreographer and dancer (currently one of Kai's backup dancers in Peaches!), Julian DeGuzman and Brian Puspos are American choreographers. Jung credited Taeyong for the part of the choreo where Taeyong lies on the floor and has Mark jump off his knee.
