what should bgs do so that GP could like them?

  • nothing, korean gp is over boygroups, SVT and NCT doing fairly well cus of fanbase that's it

  • stop making all the same concept of badass fuckboy

  • Finish their military service, finish compulsory school. Attend one of the SKY universities. Stay away from prostitutes and tattoos. Don't drink and drive.

  • Don't smoke or sell marijuana. Tobacco and e-cigs are OK though.

  • Literally just pray you get a random viral hit like rollin. 17 have been doing decently lately but even their chartings got a lot to do with massive fandom

  • 5 members max and have the sounds that appeal to gp,

  • they didnt get hit since Home that was in 2019, 2019 is the year where gp completely given up on boygroups due to scandals

i was actually thinking of very nice, this song has pretty decent longevity, it's true that the gp gave up on non bts bgs already which is why i said that it's reliant on luck, but svt charts not bad for a bg, their new song peaked 20 on melon daily chart i think

  • I wonder how songs like this will do in korea

  • Release gp friendly pop songs, korea loves pop songs.

Something similar to dynamite, bwl or peaches.

  • they can't do anything unless they turn into a gg. next level wouldn't have even charted if a bg released it.

Aju Nice was even in 2016, at the time gp used to care about boygroups, Love Scenario one of the biggest 3rd gen hit was in 2018, but since 2019 this completely changed gp gave up on boygroups which affected 4th gen boygroups most cus at least groups like SVT, NCT had built decent korean fanbase before, as I have said SVT and NCT are doing fairly well mostly due to big korean fanbase. SVT and NCT may have small chance to get hit song but besides them and BTS other groups esp 4th gen boygroups almost have no possibility i fear

lucky for svt they already have something(even if it wasn't like mega) but i agree big fanbases can at least help the song gain a bit of traction, but whether it'll be a hit, it's totally up to god me thinks

  • boy groups just need to become popular among kpop fans to chart. look at bts, nct and seventeen. the fandom hard carried the chart performance

  • Idk what they can do anymore, maybe some years later the gp will warm up more to bgs. About the music, if TXT songs were released on 2nd gen or early 3rd gen, I think they would do well. I'm not even a fan of them, but their songs are public friendly, and similar to bands like Ft Island or Cnblue, just more emo.

  • There cannot be love without trust.

  • My first thought: nothing

But my second: honestly they just could make music that can appeal to a wider public... Something catchy and simple with interesting lyrics

  • Seventeen does have small hit though, Aju Nice. It has pretty good longevity considering it’s a 6 year old song that just keeps reappearing on charts every year. but then again hit is based on luck, and GP interest.

why yall bringing 2016 songs, at that time gp used to care about boygroups since 2019 they stopped caring

  • Sometimes i think they really dont care about bgs because some bgs are releasing really good music but still flopping on kcharts.

I wouldn’t say they stopped charting. They did extremely well with Home in 2019, 500M digital Gaon points that year if I remember correctly. In 2020, Left & Right charted very well too, unfortunately Home;Run didn’t make it, but L&R can’t be overlooked. It was impressive for a non-Bts boy group. This year Rock With You has been doing extremely well, it hasn’t left the charts ever since it release and still very stable considering it’s a boy group song. Daily ULs and streams are pretty good melon even after 4 weeks since it’s release. Probably on their way to become 2nd best charting bg this year, which is pretty good considering how bgs chart in general. Even Seventeen’s OST Is It Still Beautiful is doing great on charts. it is extremely stable considering it’s ost part 8, and usually osts that come after the main ones never do that well. So “since 2019 they stopped charting,” is VERY incorrect.

    adding on to your comment,

Just this year alone, rock with you peaked 20 on melon daily chart and the last non-BTS bg song to do so before rwy(as in chart top 20 on melon daily) was left and right by them in 2020. Is it still beautiful peaked 30, ready to love didn't do as well but still entered melon daily chart top 100, and did better and have more uls than most bgs songs released this year

yes, svt's charting is lacking as compared to BTS or ggs but compared to other bgs, it's amazing tbh. And why can't we talk about their 2016 songs? even if it was when gp was interested in bgs, it is still charting till today, both pretty u and aju nice are still in melon daily chart, meaning they're still well liked, this 2 songs have been there for the past 5 years, 'they stopped caring' sounds wrong
