    Judges will have 40% in their hands and will have to favour very heavily towards others for BTS to avoid another daesang sweep. I mean BTS will need only 25% of judge's votes while IU and aespa need all of the judges to vote for them to have any chance. Same for NCT.

    The problem is MNet don't have any beef with BTS nor anyone associated with them. So most probably they won't try to sabotage them like they did to IU in 2014 or SNSD in 2010 or YGE acts in 2018. I personally think they really like BTS and don't mind them sweeping daesangs (they have done so for 2 years in a row). I might be proven wrong but just saying that it is a possibility.

    Since CJ is buying SM, apparently, I think they will give a grand prize to NCT.


    Which means IU will be thrown a bone to placate Armys who might get upset.


    Same reason IU, shunned by the people at Golden Disk in 2011, was given her first real Grand Prize in 2018 so fans of a certain group would not get too upset by BTS receiving a Grand Prize from there.

    CJ also has good relations with HYBE. They are planning to make a girlgroup next year in collaboration.

    And even then NCT will need all of the judges votes while BTS need only 10% of the judges votes to win Album Daesang.

    Song daesang has more chances to be snubbed than Album daesang.


    Also ARMYs don't get upset over these Korean awards. Did you see any complaints when 'Blueming' won over 'Dynamite' this year at GDA? That win would have made so many historical records for any song in kpop history and BTS didn't win it and I personally didn't see any complaints about that. So not that deep.

    In 2018 IU was given a Grand Prize for the first time in her life (at that time MMA was NOT considered as serious awards) to facilitate the transition to BTS, and in 2021 she might be given a Grand Prize from MAMA (which , by the way, is against its rules since she already received a Lifetime Achievement Award which makes ineligible for Grand Prizes for the rest of her life, although KPop awards bend their rules almost every year), to justify giving a Grand Prize to NCT.

    For example, I consider only Gaon and then GDA to be serious awards, but I am aware that it is not a mainstream opinion. Whereas you seem to live only in your own IUystopia.

    And do range far better variety of music, than fixation with Kpop.


    Probably why not that famous with Kpoppers.


    I like that it doesn't rely on sales - which is anyway public information.

    Or popularity - fan voting, social media likes etc.


    But rather on industry professionals.

    It is possible that the professionals also have their own biases, but still that the closest possible evaluation of quality, artistry, innovation etc.


    And that they are not outright owned by cases like Melon-Kakao or CJ E&M, adds to the credibility.
