The alternate reality aspect of it is really fascinating to me. That's a big draw for me at least.

You can definitely see how this show paved the way for the success of Boys Over Flowers. There are so many similarities it's almost plagiarism. But this show (so far) is doing it way better and without all the unnecessary cruelty.

Boys Over Flowers is not plagiarism. Its based on Hana Yori Dango japanese manga launched in 1992 way before Princess Hours which based on Manhwa "Goong launched in 2002
Display MoreI finally finished this 24 episode long legendary drama.
That was long as hell as I'm used to 16 episode dramas but I loved it so much it has moved to my #2 favorite so far right behind Playful Kiss.
I actually feel like this is a better drama to show newbies than Boys Over Flowers cause it has a lot of the same stuff but it does it without the cruelty and over the top bullying of that show.
Oh look for a special they did at the end of the drama with the cast, it is quite funny. And yes, it is miles better than Boys over flower. It has kind of a spin-off called Goong S and starring Park Shin Hye, where the roles are reversed.
Also if you have the chance, check the Japanese version of Boys over Flowers, it's not as dramatic and over the top as the Korean one.
And check other dramas by the leads of Princess Hours especially Lie to me and Take care of my lady by her and Medical Team by him, you won't be disappointed.

I've watched 5 shows in the last month and a half. My favorite being "Playful Kiss (2010)" and my second favorite is now "Princess Hours (2006)".
I prefer older dramas from around 2006 to 2012. Same time frame as second gen.

This plot kind of reminds me of Lee Minho's recent drama! Which I still need to watch. I started the first episode but didn't commit.
