For people who are still confused about the unfairness of GP999 votes

Overall Popularity does not matter. If K+international votes are summed up, then it will be fair to determine the overall most popular contestants.

But with K votes being given 50% weightage and they only want to pick K members, this is the problem

I just wanted to point out that the K-contestants would rank higher either way. It's not just the voting system.

Ofc international fans wouldn't like the 50:50 split but Korea is their home market and it is a Korean show. At least it's better than Produce where only Koreans were allowed to vote. We don't know what the final groups' promotion will look like yet but compare it to P48 which confirmed from the beginning was gonna create a k-pop/j-pop hybrid and still only let Koreans vote.

K contestants rank higher doesnt mean dominate the whole top 9. Cause if every single international vote matter more, people like Ruiqi, Yaning could go much higher, and yeoungEun will be #1 since the number international voter outnumber korean voters

Yes it wouldn't be the same but international fans acting like K-voters are the ones creating the lineup on their own, and that they only vote for K-group just because of nationalism, doesn't give an accurate picture.

Can I-fans vote for the k and j trainees because it’s terrible

You should vote for who you want

The Demographics of the Final Lineup are in no way your responsibility, and by no means should you be expected to sacrifice your favorites for the possibility of a Diverse final Group

None of the blame here should be at the feet of the Voting Fans, it is solely and squarely on Mnet and their utter incompetence of understanding their own voting system

I will be very curious at the end if they release the final vote numbers what kind of Group it would have been if every vote counted the same and there was no Vote weighting

I still don't think it would have been what Mnet clearly feared (an International dominated group) and probably still would have had like 4 Koreans in the lineup

Im pretty sure at least 4 K will make it, being Yujin, YeongEun, Yeseo and Bahi. Their votes are quite even on both K and international end.

that's where my issue lies whether the contestants knew about it and whether fans of the show knew about it
