Do you think the gp999 group will flop?

If the final group gets a good portion of Chinese and Japanese members they will be fine. Otherwise mmmm...
-
With that top 9, at the very least they could kiss Japanese & Chinese popularity goodbye
Also there being no Xiaoting, Mashiro, Hikaru, Yurina, etc will leave a sour taste in many International fans mouths. Even Ruiqi is in an iffy position and she’s the only foreigner in the top 9 rn…. At #9
And most of GP999 fandom are international stans. And Ifans are well…. They didn’t vote for THAT lineup at all
Korea doesn’t even really stan them, they’re just voting for Kgirls out of nationalism & xenophobia
-
The group is already basically going to be ignored in Korea. But with a line up like the interim rankings? The group will also end up flopping with the International fans, which is their only hope in being successful. And Mnet knows this well lol. Which is probably why they even bothered to release the full interim rankings in the first place.

Even their Korean fanbase isn't that huge the show isn't doing that well
-
would depend on the lineup too, The korean votes arent that much so dont know about that, I would assume not better than izone or any produce group for that matter.. but if a good number of C and J trainees make it in they have good chances on J and C market.. also good album sales with that... tbh if mnet wants this group to be profitable sales wise then C and J trainees are the answer..

Define flop.
I don’t think they’ll do well digitally because the show doesn’t get the traction Produce 101 got in Korea but I also don’t think they’ll bomb as hard as people suggest. They’ll be able to sell at least 100k+ with their debut. I think that’s fine for a girl group and will also probably be enough to convince Mnet to do Boys Planet 999 which is where the big sales will come from. So I think in the end everything will work out for Mnet (and I hate that).
Also the lineup won’t stay as it is. I expect a few changes after the interim ranking just from panic voting alone.

As in not being able to chart. For girlgroups GP is especially important, so I wonder how they'll do.

I don't know if you've heard, but the show started with 33 koreans, 33 chinese and 33 japanese contestants. Because of the voting system of earlier episodes (with having to vote 1/3 contestant out every group (K, C or J), it was mostly the japanese and chinese contestants ranking high. The final has one pick and in the interim ranking there's 0 japanese, 1 chinese and 8 koreans.

Their debut will definitely sell at least 200k but i don’t think the gp is interested by them I will not be surprised if their songs don’t enter on melon

hmm so what's the point if in the end they are just going to debut mostly koreans?

They probably want C money and J money. I honestly think mnet expected more foreigners to rank high, but I think they made a mistake by making us vote based on nationality and scrapping it at the last moment. I don't see much hope for the japanese contestants anymore, I'm guessing at most 1 will join the top 9 smh.

ah I understand people being mad about it

Well groups like in2it, 1the9 flopped horribly and in2it was group that Cje&m made
-
Even mnet is shaking right now. They will lose their Japan and China market who the one that always spend the most. They released the interim rank to make people panic voting. I don't think they see this coming, I mean they obviously know k-group going to dominate the top 9 but not literally like this. The stupidest thing mnet done is make the 50:50 ratio for the vote. You reap what you sow.
