Twice doing a cute concept for an English/Western release was really refreshing

Yes! I thought they would do a Cry For Me/ICTSM kinda songs and they gave something I hoped for a very long time!

What surprised me wasn't their going for a cute concept in English, but that they did it while going for a mature concept in Korean and Japanese. Maybe they wanted to showcase the old Twice? Idk.

That's good. But it's also good that younger kids can enjoy music that isn't sexualized. Just happy and cute. Obviously adults can enjoy it too. I personally like some cute/happy songs by boy groups

I think they saw how BTS had happy songs work out for them and decided they could take that risk. I think its cute they did this and I find the MV and choreo fantastic. I just personally did not like the song.

I’m glad they put out a fun feel good song & showed the western audiences their original color. It could def make future Kpop groups feel more comfortable to stay true to themselves rather than feel like they have to be XY&Z to appeal to a certain country(s)

Then again, BTS English releases were the bright fun style, so it’s not too shocking when you think about it

I thought something more mature would suit more but for real, after thinking a lil more... Twice shouldn't have to change their sound only to appeal to others, non fans, etc.

but it has become rarer here though. Look at the bb hot 100. Most of the songs have a mature sound to them.

I think most kpop groups are going for the lighter side when releasing english singles.

BTS-Butter, Dynamite

Blackpink-Ice Cream(not counting the other ones since they didn't have an mv and didn't have a lot of promotion)

Twice-The Feels

All these songs have a fresh, light side to them. I think they are trying to introduce something new to the western industry. Which I think is nice because I am tired of listening to the same concept in the western industry.

They kind of showed of their more mature side already with "I can't stop me" with appearing in The Late Show with that song.
