They wouldn't be able to even if it was during their peak. The amount of people listening to Kpop now and back then increased significantly. You can't really compare 2nd gen to BTS. Without 2nd gen to paved the way for BTS who know if they would get this big?

Tvxq in term of sales, they're not beating bts but they're doing good compare to any groups at that time. Big bang in term of impact esp Gd, but mostly in domestic only. Internationally, kpop expand in china and japan thanks to both of this groups. But even today, Bts already hold japan market as theirs. China is the only market they don't really hold but their sales there is quite good too.

I do say bts still on top of everyone listed as they have everything from sales, economic, domestic and international impact. Their impact make kpop really popular everywhere, and I don't think anyone can denied that, or else they must be delusional.

Nah, BTS are bigger than any existing or past Korean act by mile, they basically outsold whole kpop industry, especially internationally.

Tbh even any single member of BTS has more impact and would outsell, maybe except for gdragon at his peak but he would be a competition only in SK not internationally.

BTS actually paved the way for 2nd gen if you think about it. These long forgotten groups are revived back when new fans discover kpop thru BTS (they make kpop music more noticeable world wide), for example me. I would not check out SISTAR, Bigbang, BEG, 2ne1, 4minute if I’m not sucked into this crazy hole that BTS made for me. So these second gen idols get their 2nd wind, so to speak, because of BTS (and to a lesser extent other globally relevant 3rd gen groups).
