there are many kdramas which starts with black screen and information:
"story is happening in distant and very different Korea/country similar to Korea"
honestly if they would put this before each episode then those dummy haters shouldn't be able to complain
also it's highly stupid from them... didn't they for example watch Chernobyl? or Manhunt, or American Crime Story?
even if you watch series done as 'documentary' about mafia/mob you would hear some officer going back in memory and saying something like: "we couldn't assume how many people they killed" or "we weren't sure if he is just a killer hired for this job, or if he is a high ranked mafia member", etc.
also for example you can even watch The Mire season 2 on Netflix
it's Polish series which uses real life - flood of the millenium ('97) event and add some bit of fictional story with one death
also could you i magine Americans writing petitions because Lincoln was portrayed in some movie with vampires etc? haha
