Did Jin just experience the parasocial allegations that fans go through?

  • best thing i've read in a while! lmao

it's incredible how people actually believe that fans care about their fave artists knowing them on a personal level, a vast majority of us (almost everyone tbh) just want to support them and enjoy their music/projects.

    OMG YASSS!!!

I feel those who uphold those mentality are those who look down and think fandoms are made of young girls.

Like I am only here as a fan to support them and enjoy their music. If I’m being honest I’m using them for my happiness like how Namjoon asked us to. I don’t expect or want them to know me on a personal level lol. Like the fandom army is enough

    exactly!

their music cheer me up, their words give me comfort and encouragement, their projects help me keep going and provide me a good time (and so much laughing 'cause they're all so funny lmao) and I think it's enough.

  • I still remember when Tae mentioned in Festa that he was playing online once and he interacted with a Suga fan. He said, “So you must like Suga?” And the fan answered, “Yes I like him so much.”

Tae then said, “I hate V the most.”

And the fan said, “They are all precious to me.” Her response made Tae feel so “warm inside”.

I don’t really care if they know of my existence or not. I feel happy just knowing that ARMY as a single entity give the boys all the love and support that they do. Each ARMYs time, attention, love, what-have-you, combines into a collective “warm hug” that reaches them. So, no, they don’t have to know us individually.

  • Then it says more about the mindset of those people that they feel you shouldn't do something unless you get something in return...

Not exactly. When you look at how a vast majority of fan culture of kpop treats the idols, then yes its understandable someone outside would assume this and have that mindset. Just a small example dating or the bs of expecting idols to be literally perfect. Fans will often rip them apart if they date or don't tell them about evey details of their private life like the member of suju that got kicked out because he got married or the people trying to get rid of chen from exo because he got married and had a kid even to the point of hating a literal fucking baby. So to the uninitiated they'd be correct to assume that. The op was indeed correct the idol doesn't know you exist. This only got traction because that one in a lifetime thing came about where they ended up talking to the celebrity themselves, its soo common that nobody even believes that the idol is actually talking to them until a decent amount of proof is provided. Can't even count the number of times bts etc were kicked out of games, fanclubs etc for claiming to be themselves 🤣 only to get all the apologies in the world after proof is provided

?( Not exactly? :/ I'm not sure how that affects me thinking it reflects upon them that they think they should only do things if they get something in return. Those fans you are talking about have the same mindset then and are part of the problem.

Also not sure how whether or not the comment that the idol doesn't know you exist is true has any bearing. No one said it was false?

i also remember when Tae joined a silent groupchat with armys.

He kept trying to talk & all the armys were sussing him and threatening to kick him out.

They also ordered him to change his username to his real name & when he answered "but i am Kim Taehyung of bts!" & an army anwsered "okay, Kim Taehyung of bts, change your username please"

Tbh, these 'going undercover' things are exactly what i would do if i ever became famous :teeheek:

  • Why would someone feel the need to say that a celebrity “don’t even know you” when you just complimented the celebrity? No correlation at all.

So funny though that it happened to Jin, and he shared this story with us. Gosh I can’t imagine how many times BTS (especially Jin and Tae) are among ARMYs in social media.. they must enjoyed it very much lol. Let’s hope they only interacted with the soft stans...
