Unpopular NCT opinion

    I think NCT is one of the most impactful groups of their generation music wise, probably even more than groups that are/were more popular and successful than them. NCT paved the way for the "noisy" sound many boy groups are following and adapting now (like skz), and there are more and more new groups debuting with very obvious NCT influences in their music and even MVs. And there's also the fact they're one of the most covered groups currently, who in kpop didn't cover Kick It and Boss? Even bside ballads get covered by other idols.

    It's a very peculiar phenomenon considering that their music isn't exactly popular digitally.

    I don't see the similarities between NCT and Stray Kids, tbh. Even their """noisy"" sound is very different from each other

    I really don't hear any similarity with either Seventeen or Nct (talking about Thrill Ride).

    Nct is influental and all, but don't stretch this too much, Thrill Ride and The Boyz? Don't see/hear it at all.

    SM are cutting losses with 127, they're not even trying anymore either with the songs, photography or mediaplay... They announced 1.3M preorders early for shock value because they know it won't go higher and won't touch Hot Sauce and they won't communicate better numbers... They'll finally shift focus to Dream + the new unit(s) and their upcoming new boygroup.. Meanwhile expect a Taeil solo next year then enlistment, Doyoung probably some other musical roles, Jaehyun and Taeyong Im sure will be busy too somehow. Mark and Haechan with Dream and hopefully solos... Johnny and Jungwoo will be the most pitiful ones, but Jungwoo can still get gigs at least.

    Jaemin should leave Dream if he doesn't like his job anymore and Jeno can follow him after his repeated colorist jokes towards Haechan. Both are pretty much useless anyway. Jisung apart from his recycled popping skills ain't that essential either but I appreciate how he improved his singing and vocally his tone brings something at least

    I wouldn't say NCT "paved the way" for "noisy" music. SHINee and Suju have their fair share of noisy bops. Could you please tell me who these groups with obvious NCT influences in their music are? For research :eyes:

    Lbr SM aren't really trying with any of their musical output these past few years. They announced the stock orders to drive up sales, as they did with NCT Dream. Plus NCT have always had really low budget album photography.

    Firetruck lineup was the best 127 lineup (Winwin debatable I guess), Johnny should have been cut after failing to debut in Exo as he doesn't bring anything to the table since Mark and Jaehyun got English covered and Doyoung should have been kept for another unit or be moved to Mystic or acting/musical. Taeil would have had more opportunities to showcase his talent, that'd be one less weak link dance-wise and Yuta would actually sing from time to time.

    The way this went from an appreciation thread to a drag thread.


    This is why literally everyone hates NCTzens.

    the problem with 127 is the gap of popular members with unpopular members are very far

    SM should cut the members who don't bring anything to the tables and make the main unit consists of popular members

    I'm the op of the thread and I'm confused, appalled and scared.

    I don't mind negative opinions on music and performances or valid criticism of members, but this is straight up bashing at this point.

    I feel like nctzens don't like nct music, I see them bashing their own fav music on a daily basis when I lurk in their guild.

    They don't stan them for the music, but more for content they release everyday.

    But as fan, you should be more supportive of your fav, instead of posting on every thread but ncts one.

    Actually, they allow diversity of opinions in their fandom. They don't all share the same opinions when it comes to NCT's music, the styling, or whatever it may be. It's better than being pressured to praise everything.


    They might express their dislike for certain things related to NCT, but they do it as fun banter. When you can joke around about your favorites instead of taking things too seriously, that's healthy stanning.

    to be fair this thread was good and appreciative. saying skz and the boyz followed nct is a reach to be fairly honest.

    It's impossible to love everything that is released by a group. When I see some other fans praise really weak releases by the artists they stan - :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

    NCT consists of 3 units with different music styles. That's expected that you like some songs and do not like others.

    Thank god we are not a cult and we feel safe and welcomed enough in the guild to share our honest opinions. You're not an nctizen lurker, I can very much tell which fandom you're from lol.

    Don't worry about NCT and us, their music is the main reason we stan them but that doesn't mean every single one of us will love every single song. After all NCT has 4 different units with different sounds and styles, it's nuts to expect fans to like everything.

    It's okay to not like a release, but why complaining all the time?

    I think that's why another nctzen found your guild depressing, it's like you can't enjoy anything or not let the part of the fandom liking a song be happy. The guild feels always negative...


    I'm just saying be more positive toward nct.

    Because we have opinions we aren't afraid to express and our music tastes vary greatly. They're a music group with a diverse discography and we are, in fact, here for the music, which is why we constantly banter about music in general in our guild.


    We're just dramatic about it sometimes, but never in a remotely serious way. Never in the history of our guild have we stopped anyone from enjoying anything, and if you believe that, then you haven't been lurking enough and don't understand our guild dynamics. At the end of the day, even when we're joking and bantering, we know there isn't malicious intent and half the time we just jokingly argue to farm akorns.


    If you want to be in a space where you can't voice your real opinions, I'm sure there's a place out there for you that keeps everyone censored. For me, I'd join another guild if that ever happened to Neo City.


    If anyone uses the banter we have amongst ourselves as fuel to hate on NCT, they were going to do it regardless, even if we said nothing.



    Also, all the actual bashing in this thread sounds like the typical non-NCTzens giving their 2 cents, as usual.

    Hansol should've debuted with NCT :( idk if this is an unpopular opinion, but I really miss him. He's struggling so much with his mental health now and I can't help but to feel he's so unhappy.

    Antis are going to hate on NCT regardless. And the fact that they've increased in popularity even more so. There's a difference between not liking a song and just saying a group's music is trash, noise, not worth it, etc. OR listening to one song and saying the group is terrible because you didn't like that one song. OR attributing their success to conspiracies, errors, wealthy family members or aliens (not saying it's aliens, but totally aliens) and thus invalidating the hard work they and the fandom do.


    I don't think everything they release is amazing but I do think they're an amazing group.

    I am sorry that you had a bad experience. I appreciate that people feel comfortable sharing their opinions in Neo City and one of the things I love best about our guild - we talk about all kinds of music and it's okay to voice your opinion: good, bad or otherwise. There is a wide diversity in the NCT discography and different units reflect different genres and styles. Similarly, Czennies are not a monolith. There are those who like the happy pop of NCT Dream, those who like when NCT 127 is experimental and those who like when it's r&b. Some only focus on the music and some like the music and the content.


    We all agree to disagree (sometimes warmly) and we tease each other but are all united in our love of NCT and supporting each other. Perhaps you should go further in the guild - there are threads dedicated to ranking and discussion of specific albums, threads dedicated to choreo, threads dedicated to planning the next watch party to watch a concert and threads about how we're going to celebrate NCT across AKP with coordinated sigs and dps.


    The Czennies in the guild start threads dedicated to the groups inside and outside of the guild so not sure how we're posting on every thread but NCT's. Members of the guild have posted for every unit cb in the main lounge, as well as trying to boos tthem. We are supportive but few so perhaps you didn't see our threads? What we don't usually do is hop onto troll threads about NCT other than to laugh and get akorns.

    I don't think it's an unpopular opinion. It's sad that things turned out so horribly for him, especially since Ten and Kun are proof that if he just would've held on, they might have made a space for him. However, I'm hoping that he gets the help he needs and some peace by being away from the idol life for a time while he serves in the military.

    Someone left a certain guild after getting jumped by fellow guild members for not liking a song, but NeoCity is the problem. :suure:
