Isn't revenues up lately? I don't call that a decline. The industry had hiccups trying to adapt to new technologies and IP issues years ago, but as a whole it should be in upward trajectory, but this is true almost everywhere.

Not liking the latest releases =/= whole industry

Maybe if all you listen to is k-pop you may think this, because you only expose yourself to k-pop. But I don't really see the western music industry declining.

In terms of the American mainstream, it has for a minute. The cracks weren't showing. Sadly, you shouldn't expect whatever is mainstream to be the best and most artistic music out.

Kpop is surely very popular among teens nowadays, and as it is expanding fast, I bet that in 10 years it will be at least in the top 3 of most listened music genres, in 2019 it ranked in 7th place.

In my opinion is just a matter of time, until full domination.

Well it isn’t as good as the music of the’80s that I grew up with imo. The music of that era was some of the best for music and groups - my teen years.
