Do you think GOT7 could have hit it big if they had more creative freedom?

  • If they produced they own songs (especially title tracks), would their fate be different?

As comparison, Stray kids members (mainly 3RACHA) produce 95% of their songs, they release covers and unrealeased song on their YT channel but their k-fandom is still really really small and they depend largely on i-fans (just like GOT7).

My 2 cents, it's not predictable. I think, getting recognition in Korea doesn't entirely depend on how good a song is but mainly on luck (going viral à la brave girls, being super entertaining on variety shows like Jessi or going on a hit show like Nuest).

They also had some noise at their debut (being jype's first bg after 2pm, sohee having a little part in their debut song and them appearing on WIN) but for whatever reason koreans are not interested in jype's boygroups. Stray kids had a predebut show but they were hardly known in South Korea whereas Itzy came out of nowhere and had an instant hit.

So what do you think JYPE should have done differently?

Ps: I compared GOT7 with SKZ and not other groups because they are both from JYPE.
