Have you watched Loki (TV Series)?

  • It started off amazingly.

The first two episodes were absolutely brilliant, they really were. I was so excited that I could hardly wait to see the rest.

Then episode three came along, and as far as I'm concerned, things went downhill from there.

Don't get me wrong, I liked all the characters in this series and the actors did a spectacular job with what they were given but the mystery plot didn't work on any level. Though it could have, if they hadn't begun to pretend like they had misplaced the script halfway through.

Imo, Marvel was way too focused on introducing the multiverse, rendering the Loki series a mere means to an end.

And the exposition dump that was episode 6 shows this.

  • Yeah, this season basically laid groundwork for multiverse. And it did it's job.

As for Loki, His character is so interesting. I wonder where he will go from here in the 2nd season. Tom Hiddleston is a gem...

Owen Wilson did a fantastic job as well.

Before I completed the last episode, Everyone told me that it had a big cliff hanger ending, I saw it coming from a mile away.

It was a treat to watch Richard E. Grant being the Classic Loki.

My only wish was it to be longer. This will eventually lead to Multiverse being the main theme in MCU like how it will appear in Doctor Strange :- Multiverse of Madness and Spiderman :- No Way Home....

I get why you felt Ep 3 was a downhill. It completely changed the location and setting when most of the viewers were expecting something big to be coming towards TVA.

Also, I have to give props to Marvel for explaining Timelines and Multiverse in a very simple way.

    I love Pikachu.

    Always have, Always will.

    This.

I feel like, plot-wise this series really suffered from having to fit into a 6 episode format.

It was an ambitious project full of great ideas but not enough time to explore any of them properly.

In addition I felt like the priorities were a little skewed. There was so much ground to cover yet a lot of time was wasted on easter eggs and shenanigans that led nowhere.

I normally love that stuff, but not at the expense of the story being told.

The series began with a lot of eye for detail, but then they began to hurry the plot along faster and faster, until by episode 6, we basically have a narrator telling us what's going on instead of the show showing us.

I mean that's what episode 6 was. Loki and Sylvie sitting in chairs, listening to exposition for around 30 minutes.

  • I really like it and I finished watching the last episode yesterday...

I'm not a marvel fan outside the MCU so all that lore and stuff I didn't know beforehand so it was enjoyable for me and my wife...

  • I just finished it. It's really good. I'm now hyped for Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness.

The only problem with working with time travel is that there will always be flaws leading to a temporal paradox. But once you ignore them, you can enjoy it.

  • almost impossible to understand the story plots of any main Marvel-universe-related movies/shows without watching the content beforehand... :pepenomad:

selfmate didn't mean that selfmate had not watched the MCU stuff...

selfmate said selfmate hasn't watched or read any of the stuff OTHER than the MCU...selfmate + wife has watched everything in the MCU so far...

    Oh, rainbow sees :/

Selfmate should read some Marvel stuff sometime. The books and comics can be pretty interesting.

but at the local library selfmate sometimes reads the comics to selfmate's son

  • It was amazing. Marvels best tv show so far.

Loki was always a fan favourite and this shows once again why everyone loves him. Tom Huddleston is absolutely brilliant in this from his hammy egotistical self to his more introspective self when he realises he means very little in the grand scheme of things.

Also love the 60s vibe of TVA. It’s very out there for a marvel show. I think that mystery hunt for the variant should’ve have gone on for tiny bit longer, just 1 more ep. That partnership with Owen Wilson was gold.

But most importantly the tv manages to massiveness broaden the MCU. It’s not just 1 universe anymore, it’s a while multiverse. That means almost an infinite supply of stories and character to pool from. One of which is of course the new big bad, Kang. Thanos was a universal threat but kang is shown to be an multiverse threat. My only worry is how they can keep using kang without diluting him as a villain (great you beat version 36 of Kang, but next week there’s version 37 to fight). Hopefully we get satisfying stories with kang and he’s still a constant threat like Thanks was.
