Parents who were against the idea of their kids becoming idols

  • These are the idols who once said that their parents weren't too excited about the idea of their kid becoming an idol.

Suga: He even had to write his songs in secret. In the end, however, his parents support him 100 %.

RM: The same as Suga. I think with RM it was a bit more difficult because I'm pretty sure he said his mommy destroyed something of his. Texts? Music equipment? No of course she and the rest of the family are proud of him.

TVXQ Yunho: Yunho worked several part-time jobs to support himself because his parents did not support him to become an idol. Now they support him more than ever.

Tiffany: she said that her father was against the idea. I'm sure he is supporting her now.

One rumor that I heard but can't find him saying it:

Felix also stated in a Two kids room that his parents were against him moving to Korea to be an idol.

Do you know other idols? :-)

  • RMs mom broke his keyboard if i remember correctly!

and to add, soobin’s mom was against him being an idol. he auditioned in secret and once he made it through to the next round, he had to beg his mom to let him go to Seoul. she said lots of discouraging words just to get him to stop but he ended up debuting as the leader of his group. now she’s the most supportive mom ever so i guess it worked out for him

  • RV's Wendy - Wendy’s parents were initially against her pursuing music and wanted her to focus more on her studies.

Girls's Day Sojin - she left home without her parents’ knowledge in order to pursue a singing career.

All of them are a proud parents now (pretty sure). Its understandable why some of them were against it. Like, what all KPOP idols have to go through on a daily basis, the uncertainty of whats gonna happen in the future or are they gonna succeed.
