Things people said that made you sideeye

  • Ahh, okay. Now I get it. You're not asking random strangers (like a cashier at the store) because they look different. You suspect that you have this in common with them and are trying to get to know them. That's different from trying to play guess the ethnicity and looking at that person as if they're some kind of oddity.

sorry ahahaha no I'm going up to random strangers that have black hair and brown eyes and asking them if they are chinese lol

Only if they are like introduced to me or at a party or playing sports or such...

guess the ethnicity - we should play that game on the AKP forums lol

  • The double standards that people (mostly men) have regarding the LGBT+ community.

When they talk about LGBT+ community they're like "Yikes, I don't want to see men kissing each other/ holding hands etc.", but then you tell them "You do know that there are women who form a couple as well, right?" and they go like "Ah, they're ok."

:pepefacepalm: I'm not part of the LGBT+ community but I really hate the fetishization that lesbian couples have to endure, just as I hate the unjustified hate for gay couples.

And when you ask them to explain their homophobia and why are male couples bothering them so much it's like *crickets* , they don't even have an argument for it. If they do actually say something it's along the lines "If a gay man would make a move on me or touch me I would (....)", and I'm like, dude, you're not Adonis, get off your high horse.

  • A few years ago we were talking about a homicide case about a man who killed his wife in the office and one of my male colleagues literally said "she must have done something to deserve it" :S

Mind you the murderer's own sisters came out and said that the crime happened because their brother was crazily obsessive and couldn't deal with the fact his wife wanted divorce but of course my MALE colleague knows better and thinks there are actually things a woman can do that deserve getting murdered for. He has a wife and a small daughter now :S

One day the cleaning lady was complaining to us about her shitty husband who didn't want to go find a job and kept leeching off her on top of treating her badly and verbally abusing her. The same colleague's reaction was "you must have done something to make him unsatisfied with you" :S

This uneducated monster truly believes men are some omnipresent beings that can do no wrong. Let's just say that I'm so happy I work from home now and no longer have to see his face or even hear his voice.
