Originally scheduled to start on July 24th 2020, the 2020 Olympics were postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Games will begin on JULY 23, 2021
And will end on AUGUST 8TH 2021
New sports will be added, such as skateboarding, karate, baseball/softball, sport climbing and surfing.

To be honest, I would say I'm just here for the sports that include music, but we will see how many of them I end up watching. 
Edit: Found out my country hasn't qualified this olympics for rhythmic gymnastics for the first time since 1984. There is no more good mornings, just mornings 
I just check the medal rankings like I check music charts
I’m not interested in the Olympics anymore, I don’t think they’ve been as good as when we had the games in Sydney - they were the best games ever.

It's not all of the new-added cathegories. EXILE HIRO, founder and representative of the music company LDH who is the head of the planning-team for the opening ceremony of this olympics recomended breakdance as a new cathegory but since it was decided if it will be taken or not after the original planning for 2020, they will hold the first official breakdance turnament in the Olympics in 2024

The ceremony was kind of disappointing but understandable considering the situation. Hopefully the closing ceremony is better. Excited!
