yes
Do you think people change their opinion on a song based on its performance on charts often?

Some might but really, it’s only limiting their awareness to some quality music that doesn’t chart well due to a lack of exposure rather than quality.
Yep, and it's not just exposure. Some stuff will chart well because it's plays to the lowest common denominator while other stuff won't because it doesn't. It doesn't have to be just charts too. Some people will start to like/dislike a song or group because it's popular/unpopular among their friends. People in general can be influenced by a lot of things. Beauty standards work the same way a lot of the times.

People do judge a song by its success definitely. I've seen people in this very thread claim that they disliked a song a lot and it was the worst song the group has ever released. But in 2 days as soon as the song flopped on charts, it became the best song the group has ever released and others have no taste
The success of a song depending on which group it is does change the opinions a lot.

Depends on the person making that judgement and the group whose song that is.
Very simple example, we have users here who will keep increasing the goalposts for a song to be considered a hit like some did with Dynamite. After a point due to frustration with its success some said it is not a Kpop song or one that cannot be attributed to Korean artists, so it cannot be considered a national hit.
And just today I saw another claim that Dynamite is not even a BTS song, because it was pushed by the industry or something.
So yeah when you hate a group or a song, you can speak the most absurd delusional things to deny its or the group's success. Not even chart performance can make you change your mind cause you are that consumed by jealousy, you will keep making excuses.
