probably. It's the cycle of life. Rare for someone to appreciate classics.

For real, Toni Braxton was NOT underrated at the height of her popularity. She was a big star. However, she was definitely underPAID.

She was robbed for sure.

I love Toni Braxton’s voice. She was successful but also underrated at the time because she didn’t completely fit the contemporary pop star or r&b mold at the time, particularly with her gorgeous contralto voice.
But styles change and the speed of change is much more rapid. You can see it now in the reactions of the fans of later Kpop generations to earlier generations’ music.
I’ve sat in enough discussions inside and outside of this forum to know that even “iconic” music is not for everyone.

Yes of course. I would say a bunch of them will overrate them, but the rest will underrate them. It will be very hard to find accurate representation of their popularity in the future (it's hard rn too).
Because its harder to find older artists, it's harder to listen to them and therefore less people know them and rate them. They also probably have their own faves now and do not bother understanding the history of older groups, so they become underrated. Only the very top groups won't be underrated, though it might still happen looking at the top early 2nd gen groups like Big Bang, TVXQ, Wonder Girls and SUJU being very underrated now (especially Wonder Girls, completely forgotten).

Some kids ask me, who is Britney spears? Anyone who lived in 2000s know how huge she was and her cultural impact.
It is circle of life. I only found out about Beatles , when i got into charts and stuff. Its okay.
Top most artists will be known for records they set in sales , awards etc. But you can't expect new gen to love them as their fans do

This is what I came to say in essence.
